About this listen

I’m the first one to tell you I have issues.

Trust issues.

Family issues.

Probably a few others I haven’t discovered yet. Which is why I prefer to keep my life as simple and uncomplicated as possible.

Until him.

Blake McAdams barrels into my life and refuses to leave. He’s relentlessly optimistic, sexy as hell, annoyingly persistent, and…wants to be friends? Because…he thinks I’m interesting?

Yeah, I’ll pass. Thanks.

Only, somehow, we end up doing just that.

And then that friendship evolves into something more, and suddenly, I find myself navigating a completely foreign territory: a relationship.

But Blake has his own issues, and once those clash with mine my simple and uncomplicated life? Turns into anything but.

All it’s tropes done right

First, Blake is one of my favorite characters I’ve read in the last few years. Second this story is extremely well written. I’m not always huge fan of first person pov with only one narrator, but here it’s critical to live in the feelings and trauma responses, to make guesses at the secrets and to fail to know the twists this story takes. I also appreciate the lengthy amount of time we get in relationship development and happiness before the bond is tested to its limit. This story was not too slow or to rushed. You will love it

Fantastic! with a twist

Such a great story! It's a bit disjointed in the beginning on purpose because it all ties up soon enough. I'm still confused about a few parts like Blake running into his family at the art exhibition, though later he doesn't have parents? I know foster child and all that, but it seems like that was who he ended up with for better or worse. A great story anyway and I can't wait to read more from this author!

Love this book

I couldn’t wait for this to be made into an audiobook and I’m so happy it’s out and I got to listen to it. Love it.

Wonderful

A good plot, deep characters, love that builds slowly and with a lot of emotion... the crisis towards the end is resolved in a mature way and without unnecessary drama. The narrator is excellent except for the fact that he didn't really do different voices for the two heroes and sometimes it was a bit unclear who said what, but other than that he was excellent.

So happy I finally read

I had this book on wish list for a long time but was not sure enough to give it a try. I loved it. I love how it began and how the story revealed something new all the way through. I like books that give me a reason to keep going to find out what happens in the end, not the middle where they get together and have sex rest of book lol the ending was different than any other I have read, so touching I got tears. It was truly a perfect and I think realistic ending. I can’t wait for next one to come to audio. Please use same narrator, I loved him.

4.5 stars

I didnt know anything besides the blurb. I hate books with big secrets, but for some reason this authors way of telling a story makes the anxiety of this looming secret bearable. I wish this was a series with these two characters I feel like there could've been a lot more done, it felt a bit rushed at the end which did these 2 a disservice. reminded me of a book I read as a young teen "face on the milk carton"

The book was stunning. The audiobook was perfect.

I'm not even sure what else I could say. I was "not okay" after I finished the book, and for a lot of reasons - moments so relatable they almost sent me into a panic of memories, heartbreaking angst and a kind of helpless adoration or addiction to another person left me a mess. I think the text book was the first time I understood what a book hangover was.

The audiobook is all that, plus a slightly growly narrator who is perfect for Luke. The only thing I could imagine changing is adding another narrator for Blake, but even that wouldn't make sense with the POV in the book.

On the other hand... Devon Ryder is perfect in this, and I would fight anyone who tried to change anything about the audiobook for Until You . This audiobook was achingly beautiful. If you've been hoarding that last Audible credit like a dragon, this is the one you've been saving it for.

Like rain on my dried roots

It has been so long since a book has affected me so much that for long after I've finished it the story and the characters remain in my heart and my thoughts. This was told from only Jude's POV (until the last chapter) but it was written so well you could get an idea of what Blake was thinking or feeling through Jude's subconscious observations. That first meeting Jude had with Blake felt so off that you could tell there was something up with Blake. In another scene Jude tells Blake that he hates being lied to and just the way Blake acted you knew he was hiding something and that Jude didn't realize it. For this kind of thing alone I enjoy well written 1 POV books so that at the end - the big reveal - the impact is so much more devastating/thrilling than if you already knew what was coming because of the internal thoughts of other POVs. I adored the romance and passion between Jude and Blake - yes there was spice but it was tasteful and not over done.

This was my first Briar Prescott and I would love to say I would try another, but so far her other audio books have narrators that I know would ruin the experience for me - I am male narrator driven so I won't bother if I don't like the voice. I am familiar with Devon Ryder and he did not disappoint; he gave a wonderful performance.

5 stars - I would most definitely listen again.

Great story with twists and some spice

5/5⭐️ 2.5/5🌶️
I put off reading this book for a long time. Once I found it on Audible it was a must listen. Let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed, the story was great, the writing style was excellent and it had some spice. Plus a well earned HEA.
The narrator was new to me but he did a great job. Highly recommend if you are on the fence.

It’s a love that feels so real.

Blake is my favorite. He’s so well-written and refreshingly lovable. Flawed but lovable. Jude is great too, and his complexity is great to read.
