From USA Today best-selling author Catherine Bruns....

Some secrets aren’t meant to stay buried forever.

Real estate agent and super sleuth, Cindy York, has always been haunted by thoughts of her childhood friend, Paul Steadman, who committed suicide 25 years ago. A high school reunion and the prospective sale of his former home - where Cindy was the one to discover his lifeless body - bring the memories back in full force. New boss and best friend, Jacques Forte, pleads with her to accept the listing as their agency is going through some rough financial times.

But Cindy gets more than she negotiated for when new information comes to light that convinces her Paul’s death was anything but self-inflicted. Vowing justice for her friend, Cindy’s meddling only leads to further complications with the Steadman family as she quickly uncovers hot details to a very cold case. Cindy needs to close the deal and find a killer - before she too winds up six feet under!

Great mystery story and characters

Cindy is a fantastic character, and I found I could relate to her on many levels. I enjoyed following Cindy and Jacques around as they worked to sell houses and solve a mystery. The characters and story are well-developed and enjoyable, and Amy Deuchler did a wonderful job narrating. Looking forward to more Cindy York!

Real Estate Can Be Murder.

Cindy and her boss Jacques attend her 25th high school reunion. The graduates open the time capsule and Cindy gets a letter from Paul, her best friend in school. It makes her doubt that he committed suicide like everyone thought. They’re back on the trail of a killer. Great characters and story. Good performance. Recommend.

Fun Cozy Mystery

Cindy York was adamant that she was not going to go to her 25th class reunion. After all, that is where her best friend Paul supposedly committed suicide and she hadn't been to the house since she found his body.
When Paul's brother calls Cindy to ask her to reconsider and then offers to let her be the listing agent for the sale of the mansion, Cindy quickly changes her mind. At the reunion, the class opened up the time capsule that they buried when they were seniors and the mystery is on.

Catherine Bruns writes a fun tale with likable characters with quirky personalities.
Amy Deuchler does a good job narrating the story. She has an easy listening voice that makes the story enjoyable.

Great Cold Case Cozy Mystery

Although this is book two in a series it can stand on its own. It gives enough background information to keep you from getting lost. I really enjoyed this story, it has all the makings of a great cozy mystery with enough intrigue, comedy, and excitement that it is a hard story to stop and put down. I loved that this one was a very personal cold case investigation for Cindy and its one that we a reader you want to see it resolved. I would definitely recommend this as a very entertaining cozy mystery read.

Another adventure with Cindy York.............

Priced to Kill is the second in this series featuring Cindy York, a real estate agent and amateur sleuth. Although I read the first book in the series before reading this one, I think Priced to Kill could be enjoyed on its own. In this book, Cindy is a busy lady with a very stressful life. Not only is she the mother of a teenage daughter and grade school aged twin sons, she also works with her best friend and boss Jacques as a real estate agent and gets herself embroiled in solving another mystery. While a senior in high school, Cindy discovered the dead body of her then best friend Paul and has always believed his death was a suicide. When she discovers a letter that points towards him being the victim of murder, she begins sifting through clues in an attempt to find the murderer. Although I knew fairly early in the story the identity of the killer and the reason behind the murder, I greatly enjoyed watching Cindy get to the same resolution. Between terrific interactions with secondary characters like her husband Greg and her best friend Jacques, plenty of family drama with her kids and evil mother-in-law, and some fine investigating on the part of Cindy, Priced to Kill is a fun addition to this cozy mystery series.

Amy Deuchler narrates both books in the series, so having that continuity is nice. Deuchler does a fantastic job with the narration. Her delivery is smooth and flawless, and she differentiates well between the characters. I look forward to many future audiobooks in this series narrated by Deuchler. I can't imagine a better choice for Cindy's upbeat, down-to-earth personality.

Even better than the first!

This is the second book in the Cindy York real estate mysteries. I read the first one, and while this book could be read as a standalone I would recommend Reading them in order. I already knew and liked the main characters, Cindy is very likable and relatable and Jacques is a fun side-kick. In the story Cindy discovers that her best friend did not commit suicide 25 years ago as everyone believed, but was in fact murdered. She then goes on to discover who killed her best friend and unearth so many secrets along the way. I really like this series because it feels like real life. Cindy has kids that fight, a daughter that rebels, and money trouble just like we all do. On top of that, she’s working hard to solve her friends murder and stay out of the murder’s crosshairs herself. I finished listening to this book as I was driving home With my kids, and I definitely took a detour just so I could finish the last five minutes :-) I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely be checking out the third book!
