Barbara Rosenblat
Known as “the Julia Child of mystery writers,” Diane Mott Davidson cooks up gourmet culinary mysteries sure to please the most discriminating palates. Mystery connoisseurs relish her elaborate plots and fast-paced action amid scenic Colorado settings. The luscious recipes included at the end are icing on the cake. Caterer-turned sleuth Goldy Schulz has an unbelievably chaotic life, but she is uncommonly determined. Even a ruined kitchen and a cutthroat competitor can’t stop her from solving grisly murder cases or dishing up a tantalizing stream of appetizers, entrees and desserts. When the general contractor who botched Goldy’s kitchen remodelling job turns up dead, and a publicity-hungry DA tries to pin it on Goldy’s dear friend, the ingredients don’t add up. It is up to Goldy to uncover the perfect recipe for murder. Davidson is the New York Times best-selling author of The Grilling Season. With Barbara Rosenblat’s zesty narration, this tasty catering mystery becomes a veritable literary feast.

What made the experience of listening to Prime Cut the most enjoyable?
This is the first book I have read in this series which was recommended by a friend and I just jumped in and read Prime Cut. I was immediately captivated by the narrator, Barbara Rosenblat - I think she does a great job! Also, it was fun to listen to Goldy preparing her catering dishes - made me want to put the book down and go try oneof these dishes! I like the idea of including the recipes at the end. What does Barbara Rosenblat bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She has a warm, comfortable voice; it feels like I'm listening to a friend tell this story. I found listening to this book, which is light but enjoyable reading, to be the perfect break in my day when I need some time for myself, but don't want to get into a more serious book that I am reading.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Listening to Barbara Rosenblat's narration of the cooking made my mouth water! The description of the food was wonderful.Any additional comments?
This was great light reading; I am going to go to the first book in the series and go from there! My first Diane Davidson book

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narration was terrible. The person narrating has a smokers voice that is both squeaky and raspy making the performance difficult to listen. What was most disappointing about Diane Mott Davidson’s story?
I found the whining attitude of her protagonist irritating beyond endurance and would have to shut it off just not to get mad.How could the performance have been better?
A different narrater would have made all the differenceYou didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
. I think that the book and plot were engaging except for the whining self deprecation of the protagonist. I will listen to her books because she does have a good way of telling a story and a mystery that is interesting. I just find her main character embarrassing as an adult woman.Any additional comments?
I would again buy this book if it had a different narrator and it was on sale.not prime
