Publisher's summary

No one types anything anymore. You simply think it, and it appears on the page. Sharing a memory with friends is as easy as recalling and sending it to a screen. The ubiquitous chip implanted in everyone’s wrist has made interaction with technology seamless and natural, almost making our technology an extension of ourselves. What happens when it goes wrong?

Emma Johnson has enough problems. School, boys, and her firm-yet-aloof dad are enough to keep her on her toes. But everything falls apart when her most embarrassing thoughts and memories start to appear on any device she’s near. Why is this happening? Who can Emma trust?

Projection thoughts

Loved it! I'm biased though, I like all her books. However, I really enjoyed listening to it as I followed along. The narrator did the story justice :)

Very enjoyable fun story

Emma Johnson, the daughter of Steve Johnson, co-inventor of the chip that everyone has implanted in their arm to enable thought control of devices, is a perfectly normal high school teen, whose life revolves around class, study, friends and boyfriends, but her life is upended when her thoughts, memories, and even fantasies start appearing unexpectedly on nearby devices. Could her chip actually be malfunctioning? Is the seamless human integration with technology not as perfect as promised? When Emma's questions aren't answered, she and her friends must take matters into their own hands to find out what is going on.
This is a very enjoyable story, with an endearing protagonist, and a very relevant question about the use and abuse of technology in our lives. The story flows really well, and I felt every embarrassing cringey moment with poor Emma! This is my first audio book, and while I remain firmly a book reader, I enjoyed it far more than I expected. The narration is really good, and totally convincing as Emma.
I loved the science fiction element and would have loved to see this story line developed even more, and although I liked all the characters, I was less interested in Emma's dilemma (newcomer Alex versus close friend-boyfriend-close friend Tyler - who will she choose, if either?). If you like Young Adult romances, this is a definite 5 star, but for me, it is a very strong 4.5 star
