About this listen

Perfect for book clubs or the beach, Aggie Blum Thompson's I Don't Forgive You is a thrilling debut "not to be missed". (Wendy Walker)

An accomplished photographer and the devoted mom of an adorable little boy, Allie Ross has just moved to an upscale DC suburb, the kind of place where parenting feels like a competitive sport. Allie’s desperate to make a good first impression. Then she’s framed for murder.

It all starts at a neighborhood party when a local dad corners Allie and calls her by an old, forgotten nickname from her dark past. The next day, he is found dead.

Soon, the police are knocking at her door, grilling her about a supposed Tinder relationship with the man, and pulling up texts between them. She learns quickly that she's been hacked and someone is impersonating her online. Her reputation - socially and professionally - is at stake; even her husband starts to doubt her. As the killer closes in, Allie must reach back into a past she vowed to forget in order to learn the shocking truth of who is destroying her life.

Good story but frustrating

The story is good and there are lots of twists and turns. These types of stories do frustrate me because the main character seems to let the turmoil around her happen without properly standing up for herself until the end. All in all, great book with an interesting story. Worth a listen for sure! Can’t wait to see future works from this author!

The narrator did a great job.

Lots of twists and turns!

When I bought this book, based on the synopsis, I thought this wouldn’t be much of a challenge to figure out. What a wonderful surprise! It was a challenge and a very welcomed one. I was so yelling at the book and some of the characters. That is a good thing because that means I was involved and engaged in all the plots. So if you are hesitating to buy this book, don’t wait another second to use that credit! I promise you that this book plot is not as simple as you are led to believe.
The characters were somewhat complex and the NARA raider was great! There were lots of twists and turns and there is not just one mystery going on here. So stop reading these reviews and go by the book already!!!☺️☺️😂😄😄

Painful Narrator

Only 58 chapters & still felt like so much filler everywhere. Narration is soul crushing.

Great narration, story a bit lacking

Loved the narration. The only character voice I didn’t love was for the young son, although as a character he seemed a bit unnecessary (then again the frustration with motherhood definitely added to the stress of the situation unfolding). The story was good and definitely frustrating, which it was supposed to be, but it really seemed like every. Single. Thing. Was working against her with a lot of information thrown in and then never really addressed or wrapped up. Not sure I’d recommend it to anyone but also would t discourage anyone from listening/reading it.

The whining kid made the whole story annoying.

Part of that is probably the writing, some of it being the narrator. Regardless, if my kid was that whining, annoying brat, I would have run away and never come back 😝

Good mystery

I am glad I listened. The main character did test my patience at times, I found her choices so frustrating. I had to remind myself that trauma has a lasting effect, even when the victim denies any trauma occurred. So, her behavior was likely an accurate representation. And, I , too, found the child annoying. But, young children can be annoying! The story kept me guessing.

Loved it!

Although sometimes the heroine of the story made some dumb choices, I enjoyed this book very much. A really good domestic thriller!

Good listen!

I enjoyed this book. It was fast paced, well-written and kept me hooked. I will say that some of the characters were a little over-the-top to keep the whodunnit feel, but overall, the narrator did a good job giving them distinct voices and personalities. If I’m being picky, the ending was a little unbelievable and far reaching, but I think it’s because the build up to the ending is so charged that when it comes, it’s a little deflated. Overall, if you’re looking for a good read that will carry your curiosity through to the end, this is a good one.
