About this listen

In Promise, Texas, people know what it is to depend on a friend, and how to be that friend. They know that family, home, and community are the things that really count. They know that love gives meaning to every single day of their lives.

Some of the people in Promise are from old ranching families, like the Westons and the Pattersons, who first came to hill country more than a century ago. And there are newcomers like Annie Applegate, who's looking for peace and finds a great deal more. She agrees to marry a widowed veterinarian for the sake of his children...and discovers that marriage can lead to love.

In Promise, everyone's life is a story! The people here, like people everywhere, experience tragedies as well as triumphs, sorrow as well as joy. This town, like towns everywhere, has its share of secrets. But, whether times are good or bad, you're never alone in a place like Promise. And that makes all the difference.

not up to previous nararrator.

Narration was just ok.. Natalie Ross did a much better job on the other Promise books.

Great Read

Promise, Texas (Heart of Texas #7) was a great read by Debbie Macomber. Promise, Texas is a small community where people know what it’s like to depend on a friend. There are many different people who live in Promise. The Westons and 5e Patterson’s are old ranching families that have lived in Promise for centuries. Annie Applegate is new to Promise but is looking for more in life. I love that this book gave us a look into many different people’s lives. I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by Debbie Macomber.

Good story... but

Good story, but wish the unabridged was available. This abridged version just doesn't flow. The series deserves better!

Dreams come true in Promise

I loved the evolvement of all the couples. How life comes in a full circle. I wish the story would continue. There so much more to be told about each of these couples. How they are getting along, their children's growth.... please bring one more visit to Promise.

Very good read!!

Excellent book! Even though it is part of a series the author gave a background so everything was clear and easy to follow! As usual, Ms Macomber has written a wonderful story!!

A lot going on in one book.

Liked individual stories but too many in one book. Had to go back several times and reread chapters to keep up with who was who and what was their story. Finally the ending in each story was clear to me but an easy audio book to follow. Loved each story just hard to follow.

Promise, Texas

This is a great story! However, I never saw where this was an abridged version snd it left out so many important parts of the true story. Very disappointing.

Jumps around a lot

The narrator was hard to get use too. Didn’t use a lot is voice changes.
You have to play close attention, because it jumps from story to without a breath in between.
It took us a while to get use to it. It’s was nice hearing more of the story line.

Abridged was a bad idea

story was way too choppy. it jumped around and moved way too quickly. I enjoyed the great few books in this series, but listening to this over abridged was not even with the time. I wish audible had the unabridged version. I am very disappointed.
