Fate, indeed!

Hannah and James grew up across a garden from one another, an ocean of wealth and privilege between them. Hannah loved him from the very beginning and watched as he married the most beautiful starlet in Hollywood. She is a dog walker, for the time being. She has had a number of jobs as she pursued her love of painting. When James walks into his house after being gone for a long time, he finds Hannah dancing with his sister's dogs. She's grown into a beautiful young woman and he has no idea who she is, but he wouldn't mind getting to know her. A rekindled friendship is challenged by a self-absorbed woman who makes a claim on what no longer is hers. Patience. Time. Hannah needs to take some time to realize what it is that is truly special in her life. A sweet story with a dangerous twist is the best way to describe this book by L A Pepper. The narration is well-done and provides a perfect tone of voice to feel each character.

A Chance at love

Neighbors who didn't know how to tell the other how they felt, grew up, had a rough go at life. married, divorced, and finally free to live and finally found each other.
I was so baffled when the epilogue started, I was ....huh....what happened so saved her....how did the scenario unfold. was the dogs barking way too much that they had to be let outside and ran to the garden separating the two house and continue to barked...did they saw her....who did?
although I don't know this, it's a good story......
please author update the story......

An ok story

This story belonged to Hannah and James. Hannah's life had gone in a downslide and after her divorce, she's returned home to recover and re-group, Leaving the life she knew. Now as a dog walker, she is attempting to get some peace.
James is back to the home he inherited from his parents. He left LA to escape the lies and the secrets he's promised to keep. The last thing he expects when he walks into the brownstone is a dancing bombshell and a pair of dogs belonging to his cousin. Dogs Hannah has been taking care of.
While James doesn't recognize Hannah, she sure remembers her crush and watching him over the fence . Their backgrounds couldn't be more different, but the attraction is real. But will their secrets keep them from finding their HEA?
I am still not sure about the twisted ending. That said, it was a sweet story that reminded me a little of a 1950s movie with Audrey Hepburn .
As for the narrator, I truly believe I would have enjoyed the story more if either the narrator was a man or it was a different woman narrator.

Secrets

3,5 stars
This is the story of Hannah and James. They used to be neighbours until James left and got married. And now he’s back and there still is a huge attraction between them. But both have secrets of their own.
It was quite a good story, except for the abrupt ending of the last chapter. I loved that there is an epilogue but that didn’t answer all my questions about what happened in between.
The narrator made it all very difficult to get into the story. She wasn’t awful but used the same cadence throughout the story, the beginning of a sentence was high and she ended it low. I would’ve appreciated it more with some variation of voices.

Just Okay

The story was good right up until the end. And then it sucked. The end seemed like it should be the climax of the story, rather than the end and left me wondering what happened. It actually was abrupt enough that I wondered if the audio book was missing the last part of the book, or if that was how the author meant for it to end. I also struggled a little with the narrator. She was hard to follow at times, as she did not use distinct voices for each character, so dialog was difficult to keep up with. She also had a distinct dialect that bothered me. Mostly I could get over the dialect, but sometimes it was just too much.

It was an interesting story to listen to

This was definitely an interesting thing to listen to. There were so much misconceptions, provocations, hidden agendas and pain. Beyond that though, it was a relationship between probably two unlikely people.

FIGHTING FOR LOVE

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Hannah and James are on a roll and things had gotten interesting. They met after going through bad marriages and then divorcing their respective spouses. Things picked up and kept me interested. Vindictive spouse and the media lead to a very colorful story.

The narration was okay. There seemed to be slight inflections on Hannah’s voice hinting of a foreign accent. The rest of the characters’ voices were indistinguishable. There is also a missing chapter.

Protecting His Secret

The whole book was really good but at the end when Marcus her ex-husband shows up with a gun and then the book just ends it threw me off. I mean I'm glad Hannah got married to James in Hawaii and their living just fine now. But I didn't like the cliffhanger at the end.

Good story

I love the concept of the nerdy girl getting the hot billionaire next door. It gives me hope that it could happen to me. Hannah had some serious issues with her ex that comes to a conclusion but we never actually find out what happens rom the deranged ex husband that was let down but we get the HEA .
