About this listen

Add one cocky hockey god, one feisty female, and many emotions left unsaid. Stir together in a fake engagement of convenience. Stand back…

Max

I’d never missed a beat when it came to women and hockey.
But all my usuals fell by the wayside that night.

I never intended to seduce Hailey Rogers, my best friend’s off-limits sister.
Hey, that was a bro-code violation.

But she was sizzling perfection, so I pulled her body in and took her—and her V-card.

Then I ran…
and Hailey’s plaintive question as the door slammed shut echoed in me for years: “Max?”

Hailey

Max Decker is back.

Now an NHL star, he’s every bit the man I remember—
infuriatingly charming, handsome, and with a chiseled body that sets my world on fire.

Max needs a fake fiancée to seal a multi-million-dollar deal.
I’m still resentful, but I’ll play pretend because this is the lifeline to save my parents from losing their home.

Our charade, though, sparks old flames, desires and jealousies.
And doubt. I couldn’t bear being destroyed again.

So I’m waiting to see Max’s choice: his deal or us.

I should probably tell him at this point that I'm pregnant.

——
This passionate love story promises a deliciously sweet happily ever after that will leave you swooning.
No cheating and no violence, just pure, heart-pounding love.

Ok for a virtual voice book

The virtual voice surprisingly didn’t bother me as much as I thought l it would. There were a few parts that seemed off but it wasn’t enough to detour me. The storyline itself had a lot of potential to make a great book I just think it fell a little short due to lack of more detail and my dislike for the main male character.

I seriously disliked the male character. He had no redeeming qualities whatsoever and I felt like the story just glossed over all of his flaws and he never really got better. All he did was say sorry and it magically fixed all of the main characters problems! He was arrogant and never listened to the female main character about what she wanted he just bulldozed her and did things his way.

The main female character was a lot better than me because I wouldn’t even give him a second chance! He could never have a serious conversation either without joking about it which the mfc continued to say bothered her but he never changed. Matter of fact he continued to joke and say the absolute worst thing in each situation they found themselves in!
Sorry for the rant it just really bothered me. I think this storyline had a lot of potential I just think the author made the mmc too dislikable with very little redeeming qualities for it to rank higher in my book.

Awful narration

Couldn’t listen more than about 20 minutes. This storyline had potential but needed a male and female narrator as the storyline was difficult to follow with only one voice.

I couldn't finish this one. The story was just lacking in so many ways and so contradictory.

he's a the stupidest stereotypical jock that has absolutely no emotional intelligence whatsoever. She's the stupidest smart person ever with no backbone. he was her brothers best friend they were all the same age yet the story line makes it seem like she knows nothing about the real him but at the same time insinuates they have all this history that doesn't coincidence with the whole one night stand situation at the beginning of the story. he is completely oblivious to the hurt he caused by walking out yet despite how hurt she had been for so many years she doesn't call him on it and falls for his playboy ways again like nothing ever happened... it's stupid. and so cringe in so many ways. you just want to yell at them... this could have been a good book but there are just too many wrong directions in the storyline that make it not worth the read.
