About this listen

Asher is a man who defines contradiction. A man who rebelled against his billionaire father by joining the underground club scene but then went on to become a Harvard graduate and a well-decorated Navy SEAL. And now, as a member of the elite Walk Security team, he's a chameleon who is as comfortable in a suit and tie as he is in a leather jacket.

He's also a man who will never want just one woman. Until Sierra. She is beautiful, tough, and clearly running from someone or something. She tries to run from him, but Asher knows what he wants, and what he wants is her. And he'll kiss every soft, sweet, delicious spot on her body to make sure she knows just how much.

Their passion is wicked hot. Her secrets are wicked dangerous.

Let the games begin.

Smokin' Asher

Asher ex-Navy seal works for Walker Security. He has Daddy issues and you have to love him for his ethics and morals alone. . He looks great in a tux or in jeans and a t-shirt - he can blend in anywhere which makes him good at his job. When Sierra puts him in his place while working the bar he's instantly attracted to her. I love Sierra's sassy mouth when she constantly turns Asher's own words around on him. Asher knows Sierra is running from someone, and she doesn't trust anyone, but when she becomes prey in Asher's undercover job, they get to know each other on several levels.
Narration by Muffy Newtown and Lance Greenfield was great, the inflection in their voice really captured the wit and trepidation between the two.

Cute story

The story was cute, fan of the characters. One bit of feedback for the narration as I’ve listened to the Walker Security books in order is that the male narrator was inconsistent in how he pronounced Kara’s name.

Awesome!

Ms Jones had done an excellent job with this novel. The plot was exciting and took some very unexpected turns. Asher, Sierra, and all the Walker Security family are so real it feels as though you know them personally.

outstanding!

whooo-eee! The action in this book will get your heart pumping. The men of Walker Security know how to do it up right and the women who catch their attention are very lucky, indeed.

Great Series

The overall story is very good but the narration by Muffy Newtown talks too fast, she needs to slow it down a bit.

The story is good, the performances aren’t

The story is on a par with all of Jones’ work. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The performers are very hard to listen to. Muffy, who is supposed to be educated and from Colorado, sounds like she came from the Deep South. She never met a ‘G’ she could pronounce. Lance, on the other hand, pronounces every sound like he’s giving a diction lesson. The contrast makes it even more annoying.

4.5 action packed ⭐

What an action packed ride! LRJ packs a lot into this one with dual plot lines involving a woman running from an abusive ex and a serial killer on the loose. Then ties them together when the killer takes an interest in the running woman too. But LRJ did a great job of taking improbable circumstances and adding real stakes, high tension, a sexy alpha hero who was much more nuanced than his caveman impulses and a heroine who despite being terrified and running from a tough situation would let herself be a doormat. Add in a great cast of supporting characters and this was a very entertaining listen. The narration by Lance Greenfield was spot on. He totally embodied Asher's hard edged warrior persona and the soft center he discovered he had for Sierra. Muffy Newtown also did a good job with her part though I was a bit confused by her accent choice which seemed to have a mild lilt of the South even though I thought her character was supposed to be from Colorado. But that's just a minor nitpicky detail. It was still a good listen. I'm gonna have to go back and check out the Walker brothers' backstories now from previous books since I enjoyed the supporting characters so much.
