Story
In The Butchering Art, the historian Lindsey Fitzharris reveals the shocking world of 19th-century surgery on the eve of profound transformation. She conjures up early operating theaters - no place for the squeamish - and surgeons, working before anesthesia, who were lauded for their speed and brute strength. They were baffled by the persistent infections that kept mortality rates stubbornly high. A young, melancholy Quaker surgeon named Joseph Lister would solve the deadly riddle and change the course of history.

great book
Great book for complete programming beginners and for those who need a refresh of fundamentals. Good pace, and goes from zero to reasonably sophisticated samples. Great for kids but not condescending for adults.

Learn python programming
What made the experience of listening to Python: Learn Python in a Day and Master It Well the most enjoyable?
The simplicity of programming is actually not that hard. This book does a good job in making sense of python programming in layman's terms.
Any additional comments?
I wouldn't say you could master a computer language like python in one day, but this book does a good job in making sure you know what you're doing and gives a plethora of examples. If you want to learn python programming, and you know nothing about programming, this is a good starting point.

BEST BOOK
Being new to python and programming this is one of the best books I've found. There's knowing what to do, knowing how to do it and understanding why it is you're doing what you're doing. This book for me provided the why. It explains all the details that the other books and courses I took kinda skimmed over.suggested to all............

Pretty good book!
Would you consider the audio edition of Python: Learn Python in a Day and Master It Well to be better than the print version?
Yes.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This is an insightful, easy-to-read guide as often programming books are mind-numbing!
Any additional comments?
This was a pretty good book. I was better able to get an understanding of a few topics that I was shaky on after reading through it and working through the examples that the book contained.

More like learn Python fast and easy.
Experienced coders will pick-up Python syntax during the review of familiar basics. I enjoyed the book and learned a lot from the experience. Had a little trouble with the Kindle version not being able to listen the example code text. Easily fixed with an email to the publisher who promptly supplied a corrected version at no cost. As an experienced programmer I highly recommend this book for learning Python. It's made learning Python fun. Also, it's refreshingly free of errors; the code examples work.
