About this listen

We're back, purple piglets! And we've come to claim what's ours. To pick up the pieces that we've left behind.

I didn't expect a welcome home party. Don't get me wrong, it would've been fun, but I didn't expect this either.

The moment we stepped out of the gate, we were thrown on another roller coaster.

Another battle awaits us - a battle we have to win.

There's no time to just go along for the ride. No, I have to take it all head-on.

Because I'm Isadora. And I protect everything that's mine. And you better hope you're on that list.

Contains mature themes.

I don't know mixed feelings

I have never read a book by this author before and after listening to the first book , I was intrigued enough to continue the series. The story has alot of main characters and a few times the plot was hard to follow or became confusing to imagine at times. The third book was not as good as the first two in my opinion, it felt kind of rushed maybe yet other parts felt drawn out or just unnecessary. The narrator's I think did a good job. better then others I have listened to. So, yea its mixed feelings....it wasn't my favorite but I didn't dislike it.

I loved this series but

I love the main character Isadora but towards the middle all the whinning and self pity drove me crazy. Both female and male leads. The ending made up for it.

Lovely and funny and emotional and steamy

After reading the reviews for this 3rd book in the series I was worried it would be filled with too many tears and weakness from Isadora. I felt the complete opposite. I am so glad there was emotion. If anyone went through so much in such a small amount of time we would be a mess. Isadora showed human emotion which she taught herself as she wanted to be a protector. She also showed fear for the ones she loved, which who wouldn’t fear for the ones we are bonded with. She also showed fear of making the wrong decisions which shows growth and maturity. We all battle with our inner demons. Isadora and her bonded showed love, strength and loyalty throughout this last book. The ending gave me chills. I was so happy that it wasn’t a book that had every battle won because that isn’t how life is no matter what we battle. Definitely a great series and I loved that they were longer books to listen to. The writing was very good and I loved the narrators. Ups and downs. Tears and smiles. Anger and laughter. And of course some sexy time which is always a good palette cleanser.

What Happened?

I have to agree with the other reviews. I'm usually the one to love the books that others can't stand but I couldn't find anything to love about this one. I really enjoyed the other two books they were amazing, and I love the characters! But this one was just filled with a bunch of inner monologue that for the most part just didn't make sense. Issa was awesome in the first two books who doesn't put up with any crap and in this one she has a meltdown during the whole book and thinks she isn't good enough. If you cut just her inner thoughts out of the book, then this book would be half the length it is. I thought this book would be filled with action and suspense, but there really isn't much until the last quarter of the book. And why do the sex scenes have to be 3 chapters long?? Why can't they all be in the same chapter?? There's no scene change that would call reason for it other than when the character is changing to another (which isn't often).

good

this was a good book. it had so much action. there wasn't to much spice. I love how the characters developed in this story and grew into their roles as rulers.

I wish I had of read the other reviews.

The first two books were brilliant. This one made me want to chew through my wrist. It was filled with 'woa is me ' she went from being an incredibly powerful female character in the first two books to a bumbling idot in the third. I rolled my eyes so hard whilst reading this book I could hear them.

Worst of the three books

Spoilers below!
This book was painful to listen to. However, after investing time and money into the first two, they had to endure the wreck. The first half of the book is tedious, relentlessly repetitious, and what was the point again...? There is no focus or fluidity to the whole thing.
There were so many details the author created and even mentioned in the previous books that would have easily been mentioned but never did, making me mad with "why aren't you doing X?" I expected some character development from all the kings and Issa, but that never came. She kept saying their bond grew but did nothing to demonstrate that. From book one, she knew that Icus was doing stuff to witches because the ghost sister told her, but then she flailed in the wind going, "I don't know how he's doing all this!?" AGGHHHHH.
And, can we get over the self-doubt and pitty, please? Hours of it...I wanted to hit Issa to have her snap out of it.
They got their butts handed to them twice even after they made "plans" (no plans were revealed). But, oh, they planned every eventuality. Uh-huh...
There are MMMMMF and MMM and MM sex. It is not as graphic or explicit as some others I have listened to but if it is not your cup of tea, skip it.
In the middle of all the chaos, the author decides to introduce another extra to the whole mess by getting Issa pregnant. UGH. Why? What was the point?
The same narrators - Troy Duran, shows up with his narration at some point. None of the three books flowed with him. He kind of showed up, read a bit, and poof! Why bother?
I'm sure the book sounded great to the author - kind of like my jokes! They're great - in my head!
All the extra crap cost this book its potential. Ended up a dud.
