About this listen

Discover historical writings and hands-on rituals that show how the Goddess became such an important component in today's Pagan, Witchcraft, and Wiccan practices. Jack Chanek explores the development of her mythology using nine well-known texts written between the 1800s and the 1970s by famous practitioners and historians. He offers insights on The Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazer, The Book of the Law by Aleister Crowley, The White Goddess by Robert Graves, Witchcraft Today by Gerald Brosseau Gardner, and others. By presenting these titles alongside each other, Jack shows how the Goddess movement progressed with each text building upon previous ones, leading to the core themes we recognize today. Every chapter of Queen of All Witcheries includes a solitary ritual, a group ritual, and an exercise to provide you with a richer devotional experience.

This is a fantastic book on the Goddess within the Wiccan religion. I greatly enjoyed the time of the book and rituals included. The narrator on this audiobook is excellent, brought the book to life.

Terrific book on The Goddess

Another excellent piece by Dr. Jack Chanek. This book is an excellent survey of primary sources while reducing the obvious racism, classism, and queerphobia in said texts. Dr. Chanek doesn't hide those things but writes in a style that is very "I read this so you don't have to." His style is poetic and accesible to readers and seekers od all levels.

All in all a good read.

A Great Survey

This is a good book for those interested in practicing Wicca and witchcraft. I personally wouldn’t seek out the texts the author references but it’s great to have a summary of them. He provides an explanation of why they’re important to the development of Wicca, witchcraft, Paganism, and goddess worship. That’s useful if you’re planning on working with deities in your practice. It gave me a greater understanding of the goddess figure, you don’t always get that in your standard beginner Wicca or witchcraft books. I found the rituals to not be the most accessible for beginners, but they were still interesting to read about.

The history is really good, The rituals were hard to listen through. The reader reads it exactly like I would imagine Jack would read it himself.

Great History
