Break up with Chase Dexter, or I'll kill him.

Holly Anna Paladin never expected such a gut-wrenching ultimatum. But the man threatening her makes it clear he's dead serious. With home invasions, hidden cameras, and bombs threats, Holly must make some serious choices.

Whatever Holly decides, the consequences will either break her heart or break her soul. She tries to match wits with the masked man, but he's always a step ahead of her. The more she fights, the deeper she's drawn into the perilous situation.

Dealing with the ultimatum, her sister's wedding problems, and riots that have broken out in the city, Holly's nearly at her breaking point. She must discover the identity of this mystery man before someone she loves dies. But the deceit is threatening to pull her under...six feet under.

Holly Anna and the Shadow Man

Sweet, unassuming Holly Anna is just trying to help her sister get married and be a good maid of honor . . . until the shadow man shows up making demands and threatens to wreck her happiness . . . then stranger and stranger things begin to happen . . . dangerous things . . . including murder . . . and the shadow man is always one step ahead . . . what does he have against Chase, Holly's boyfriend? Why is he demanding that Holly break up with him? Enjoyable listen. . . clean, thoughtful, quirky, and great resolution . . . I sure do wish the next ones in the series were on audible . . .

Entertaining story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series, so I was very excited to get a chance to listen to book 2. I would recommend this to a friend, although the reader wasn't at all like I had in mind for Holly Anna. It took my enjoyment down a notch, but it was still an entertaining story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Holly Anna is a great character. She's quirky, but has a good heart. She was really put in a difficult situation in this story. She wanted to be with those she loved, but was forced to choose between their safety and being with them.

What didn’t you like about Sandy Rustin’s performance?

The narrator's portrayal of Holly Anna came off as younger and not as smart and tough as I'd built her up in my mind from the first book in the series.

Any additional comments?

The mystery was good in Random Acts of Deceit, although I had my suspicions about who the bad guy was.

Just tell somebody

I enjoyed the first book her responses to the threats was just silly and wound up just making me mad. Why mad? The time wasted on this book. She doesn’t want to lie, but she does. I will not be purchasing anymore books in this series.
