About this listen

Ranger Group 42: Deadman’s Gulch is a pulse-pounding military sci-fi thriller that catapults listeners into a galaxy on the edge of chaos. The Confederation, a coalition of planets and corporations, struggles to maintain order across its far-flung colonies. Pirates, mercenaries, and corporate power plays threaten to fracture the delicate balance of peace.

In the middle of it all stands Colonel Jack Stone and his elite unit, Ranger Group 42, tasked with preserving order in a galaxy where enemies hide in every shadow. When a critical supply transport is raided on the central hub of trade in the region, Stone and his team are dispatched to investigate. The convoy was transporting valuable bio-mimetic compounds, essential for sustaining life on the outer colonies. Without them, entire worlds could wither. But what begins as a search-and-rescue mission quickly spirals into something much darker.

As Ranger Group 42 ventures deeper into the heart of an area of space known as Deadman’s Gulch, they find themselves up against a well-armed enemy that’s always one step ahead. With time running out, Stone must unravel the mystery of who within the Corporate Governing Board is backing the Black Ring before the galaxy plunges into full-scale anarchy.

Outgunned, outnumbered, and surrounded by enemies, Ranger Group 42 must rely on their wits, skill, and sheer determination to stop the pirates from gaining a stranglehold on the galaxy’s resources. But as the battle intensifies, Stone realizes the fight isn’t just about supplies—it’s about preventing another civil war from erupting across the Confederation.

Ranger Group 42: Deadman’s Gulch delivers non-stop action, deep-space intrigue, and a race against time that will leave listeners on the edge of their seats.

Thrilling non stop action adventure

Deadman’s Gulch is so action packed I’m completely hooked! Rory Stouder has crafted a story that feels both epic and personal, with characters you can’t help but root for. Colonel Stone and his team are a perfect mix of tough, resourceful, and relatable, and the tension between the Rangers, the colonists, and the Black Ring Syndicate kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The world-building is vivid and engaging, and the action scenes are so well-written that I felt like I was right there with the Rangers, fighting to survive. What I loved most, though, is how the story balances high-stakes action with real emotional weight. It’s not just about the battles—it’s about the people.

On top of that, Stephen Dalton’s narration absolutely brings this book to life. His ability to give each character a distinct voice and personality made it feel like I was listening to a blockbuster movie. The emotional beats hit harder, and the intense moments had me holding my breath. Dalton’s performance captured the grit and heart of the story perfectly, adding an extra layer of immersion that made it hard to stop listening.

I’m already counting down the days until the next book in the series. If this is just the beginning of Ranger Group 42, I can’t wait to see what’s next! Highly recommend if you love sci-fi with heart.
