We all have wondered if we are being told the truth. Well now you no longer have to wonder. Success requires trust in those who surround us and they are speaking to us without even talking, if we know how to read the signs. Three quarters of our communication is non-verbal. Reading Everyday Body Language contains scientifically proven psychological techniques that can be applied to all sorts of everyday situations. Determine if a person is being honest, whether your date likes you or not, and how to know if someone lacks confidence.

In this practical guide, author Sanjay Burman teaches us how to read body language and micro-gestures. He explains the meaning of a scratch of the chin, the wringing of hands, a wrinkle of the nose or a hard swallow. With these techniques the listener will be able to uncover the true meaning behind these and other gestures to confirm what others are saying, and of their truthfulness. Learn how your body language reading can be used to persuade people to buy your product, vote your way, or believe what you want. The benefits to understanding body language and how it can be used to persuade people are limitless. It will increase your commissions, help you communicate more effectively with others, and understand the truth behind people's words.

Nice to pass the time

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Although this book contained some good tips, the author added way too much nonsense and stupid jokes into the text. I think that if I chose a hard copy for reading instead of the audible version I would have put it down by the second page just because of the jokes and ridiculous comparatives used to make the authors point. Many of the audible clues that show a lack of sincerity were surprisingly prevalent in this very book which is quite ironic. But, there is information hidden in between all the nonsense that I found interesting and will attempt to apply.

What could Sanjay Burman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Had someone else read the book and cut out the uncomfortable "humor" throughout.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sanjay Burman?

Any experienced narrator

Was Reading Everyday Body Language worth the listening time?

Yes, overall.

Too much silly fluff with a few good ideas & tips

The body language tells this title refers to, can all be heard simply by listening to the the audio-sample. Doing so will save you both two-and-a-half hours and twelve dollars. The rest of the content consists of anecdotes that are neither based on evidence or scientific inferences. The author posits you are homosexual because your father beat you, a lesbian because you were raped, and slut shames those who were sexually abused as a child.

This audio-book further reinforces stereotyping, generalizations, false assumptions and discrimination. If you want to bolster your narrow-minded thinking and socially catalog individuals, this book is for you.

Tip: you’ll learn more about body language by take a twenty-minute subway ride in New York City.
