How much love do you have for yourself? Not the narcissistic "aren't I wonderful?" kind of love but the essential regard for self that empowers you and helps you navigate through life. The type of love that enables you to feel safe and secure in who you are and inspires you to make choices that are good for your authentic self. When scientist David Hamilton realized that his own lack of self-love was sabotaging him in hundreds of subtle ways and more than a handful of major ways, he devised an experiment using himself as the guinea pig.

As she puts it, she “kicked and screamed . . . wishing for something - anything - else” to be her issue. The people who got to drink normally, she thought, were so damn lucky. But in the midst of early sobriety, when no longer able to anesthetize her pain and anxiety, she realized that she was actually the lucky one. Lucky to feel her feelings, live honestly, really be with her daughter, change her legacy.

It's great to hear this from Sean himself
I had heard Sean interviewed on a Radio show about the release of his book. I knew that I was going to read this book at some time in the future and the ideas he shares can make a difference for the better in anyones life. It's a ton of good common sense stuff that when used everyday will make a huge difference. What really moved me in both the interview and in the audiobook was the emotion that Sean brings to the stories that he tells, which he himself has experienced, added enormously to the power of the book I don't think it would have had the same impact read by anyone else. I recommend it for everyone!

Good only if you have no exposure to Tony Robbins
This is a great book if you have no exposure to Tony Robbins material. But if you have been expose you realize that Sean is pretty much is using all the teachings of his with a twist.
In general personal development material are great if you can have a relatable story attach to it. Sean's story is very touching and inspirational.

Best self help book I've read.
I don't usually like to listen to self help books I would rather read them so I can make notes in the book as I read along but I couldn't stop listening to this one even though the author suggests reading it slowly as you do certain assignments. The book was very engaging,Inspiring, and practical and I wanted to absorb all of it in one sitting. Now I'm going to start over again and listen to it the way that the author suggests. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm going to suggest this book to my Family and friends.

Highly recommended
Sean has done an amazing number of things with his life given his disability. He outlines what has helped him and gives detailed instructions of how to overcome issues. He also gives powerful examples of others in his life adhering to his principles. Highly recommended for self-helpers!

Good overall motivational book
I love the motivational book genre, and was intrigued by the title. I was looking for a book that specifically addressed self-sabotage. This book is a great overall motivational book which walks through Sean's incredible story. But it was not prescriptive enough for me in addressing self-sabotage.
If you are looking for a good overall motivational book, this is good. If you are looking for more specific, I recommend looking elsewhere.
