Editorial reviews

First grader Freddy Thresher gets scared of everything, which means Halloween is not an easy time for him even though he gets to dress up like his favorite animal - a shark. But how will he cope with his classmate's Halloween party, where everyone will look like a ghost, goblin, or monster? Sensitive kids will relate to Freddy's plight, while science lovers will likely enjoy all the shark facts. Versatile performer Fred Berman clearly enjoys narrating in all the different voices, from class bully to big sister. A great choice for helping kids learn how to conquer their fears, and for getting into the Halloween spirit.

Fred Berman is a great sound artist

Fred Berman is among the best narrators for children's stories. My kids have listened to the six Ready Freddy stories over and over for more than my fingers and toes can count. They probably have memorized all the books already. Fred Berman is a genius in sound art. My kids keep asking me when Fred Berman is going to read more Ready Freddy stories? I hope the new ones are coming out soon. Fred Berman, we love you ;-)

First and second graders don’t talk like this to each other. Great author- poor narration.
