Publisher's summary

Secrets rule Lana’s life. Her father’s death brought some out into the open, but she has a few of her own: 1) she’s been married to Blake for nearly a year - and trying to get a divorce for most of that time. 2) A moment of emotional weakness and too much champagne ended with her in her husband’s arms - and now she’s pregnant.

Blake hasn’t thought of another woman since they first met, though she believes otherwise. When Lana’s hotel-magnate father offers him the job of regional manager - and an office in the hotel Lana would be managing, Blake jumps at it. Keeping her attention when it’s split between her sisters, the ins and outs of running a resort, and the ‘ghost’ who’s been haunting the building isn’t easy. Learning about the baby convinces him to redouble his efforts though - he isn’t going to give up without a fight, and when someone comes after Lana, the stakes are raised again.

What a great book 3

This audio is book 3 in the series . Love how the author takes a sister and gives them their own story . The sisters life reflect issues that happen in real like and in some instances your wondering what they are thinking and why they did things .
This is no different
Hero is Blake Heroine is Lana

Lana has a wrong idea about Blake and what Happened. Jack has loved Lana front the first time he saw her. When her father first took him on .
Blake has had a hard life. Lana says she still loves Blake but she is making him suffer . Blake made Lana suffer but get this only for a day .

Valerie did a great work reading this story . Her voice was steady , strong and clear so far Valerie doing this one and the other 2 are great

Another great addition

Book three in the series and this book was just as entertaining as the previous two. It was well written and it kept me invested from the first to the last chapter.

I found the narrator Valerie Gilbert easy to listen to and appreciate the different voices she brings to the characters, which makes it easy to follow the story without getting confused.

This time it is Lana and Blake’s story and to say it’s a complicated one is an understatement.
From the first to the last chapter I was drawn in to the story and couldn’t wait to find out what happens.

Lana and Blake have a secret and it is one that may well tear her family apart should it come to light. However Blake is determined to fight for the woman he loves even though she is just as determined to ignore him and their marriage, until she can’t.

Who will win the battle of wills?

Lanas story

What did you love best about Reclaiming His Bride?

I enjoyed the possibility of paranormal experience is going on in the hotel

What does Valerie Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator did an excellent job bringing the story to life I'm glad one narrator did the entire series for more seamless read

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I divided the book into two listening sessions, because of my frustration with the main character Lana.

Any additional comments?

the series does need to be read in order for better understanding. In this book we follow sister Lana on her journey of admitting her pregnancy to the family as well as her surprise marriage. Lana seem so strong in the other books, but in this one she turns out to be a major weak link. I hate when we find out a character has no backbone and fulfills the damsel in distress stereotype to the T. however I do enjoy this series and learning about each sister, I just wish they were all is consistently strong as they appeared in the first book. I listen to this book on audible the narrator did a great job pulling you into the story and keeping it moving along

Learn to trust despite you fears

Lana had found out that her father cheated on her mom. That moment had changed her. It was many years ago, but it still hunts her and prevents from trusting men.

A year ago, Lana had met Blake, fell in love and got married to him. A few weeks later, she saw him interacting very comfortably with another woman and assumed that he cheated. Now she does not want to continue their relationship, filed for divorce, but Blake does everything in his power to change her mind.

One day, after having too much to drinking they spend a night together and Lana gets pregnant. Now she is faced with many challenges to go thru. On top of it, Blake’s and her late father were enemies for a very long time.
Can Lana and Blake overcome the obstacles in their way? Listen to find out.

The narration was good, easy to understand. Each character had its own personality and voice.

Reclaiming His Bride

The DiCarlo sisters are put together by their dying father. He seems to know a lot more about them then they know about themselves, but little by little they are learning everything there is to know about each other. -- Could not put this book/series down!

love this series

this book is great, as are the ones before it. I really love the writing and the narration is fabulous! I love the characters. these two had quite the obstacles to over come! I would recommend it to anyone. it's a great romance that you could listen to in front of others, (no naughty scenes)

A different narrator may help, but I'm not sure.

Would you try another book from Heather Tullis and/or Valerie Gilbert?

If I try another book by this author it would be so I can find out what happens to the rest of the sisters in the series but in a format where I don't have to listen to Valerie Gilbert talk and I can skip pages at a time.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I found the ending expected but I was not disappointed at all.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Valerie Gilbert?

Just about anyone. The first book I listened to by this narrator I thought she was annoying but bearable. The second book I partially blamed on the page after page of whining and woe is me attitude of the MC. However, it turns out this narrator makes all females sound whiney, obnoxious and snobbish.

Did not love this sister...

So, this book was super annoying and Lana is not my favorite sister. She has serious trust issues and over reacts at the drop of a hat. The whole reasons for the separation is ridiculous and then she doesn't learn from the mistake. I just wanted to shake her!

Blake is like, beyond a saint for putting up with her nonsense. It Lana can grow up she will deserve him. It was a roller-coaster at times. Having the mixed narrative helps you really see his side of things. It doesn't exactly work as well for Lana, I had a lot of trouble liking her and thinking well of her actions.

The side plot of the ghost finally comes to the forefront. It has been progressing and finally has its moment. It was not quite what I expected and I found myself surprised but the culprit. An interesting twist.

It is a fairly clean romance, meaning closed bedroom door. They do sleep together, but no details. It might be acceptable for the Christian Romance readers, because they are actually married.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert, who is fantastic. I always find her reads delightful and this is another case of happy ears. Her tone is pleasing and fits the story to a tee. I love her pace and the energy of the read. It kept me going when Lana was annoying.

I think Rosemary is next and I cannot wait!!! I expect she and Harrison are going to be loads of fun.

Super bad narrator

I usually can listen to most narrators but this one was so bad it was all I could do to listen to the book for minutes at a time. I hope she does not talk like she reads. It was truly hard to listen to her inflections as she read.
