About this listen

Mya

My entire world has been rocked with a loss, and I need to escape.

With nothing left to lose, I leave behind the place I grew up and the memories haunting me there.

I trust no one. Then I meet him. And he won’t stay out of my way.

Jase

I trust few. I work hard and mind my own business.

But when a friend of a friend needs help, unfortunately, I can’t seem to do that. On the outside, she seems utterly broken. But I see that fire in her flickering under the surface.

She’s been through hell, but I’m insanely desperate to bring her back. I know plenty about recovery, after all.

Enjoyable listen

I enjoyed getting to know these two. Mya just needs to get away-anywhere. But when she arrives she doesn't expect Jase. These two take me on a trip filled with ups and some downs. There are surprising events that happen and its difficult to figure out which way the characters will go. Jase is a good guy with a past he keeps quiet about. Mya just wants to change her stars with no man involved. Life has other plans for them.

I loved getting to see Logan and Quinn! I wondered how they were doing once they moved and this really filled in the blanks. We meet some new wonderful characters with tragic pasts as well.

I did listen to this on audio. Tor Thom and Lucy Laurel are the narrators. They both do a good job.

WOW!

When I first saw the title, I automatically thought this book was about recovery from addiction. While their are discussions of addiction throughout the story, Recovery is really about mending lives and all that destroyed Maya and Jase’s heart along the way. When Maya loses her little brother Trey, she turns to some old friends to help here escape. Rhys helps get her to Nashville with Quinn and Logan, little does she know that her escape is really her beginning. The pill between Jase and Maya the moment they meet is undeniable. They both trust each in a way they can’t explain. Jase decided to tell Maya his truths but his truths are her demon. Only Time can help Maya overcome this but she learns quickly that she not only has new friends in Nashville but a family. Maya and Jase are an incredible love story of strength snd obstacles but their love is what leads them to recover from their pasts.

Amazing

Tor Thom is one of my favorite narrators hands done. He does an amazIng job with this book as well. Swoon. Lacey Laurel did a great job portraying Mya in this book. I can’t say enough good things about Tor Thom. 🖤

Mya and Jase are raw and emotional characters. Nicole Dykes always done such an amazing job of making her characters real and relatable and this book is no different. I felt for Mya and her need to escape and not become attached so she could keep moving forward. Her story is a painful one. This book does pick up where Clarity left off and while not necessary I do recommend starting with Clarity.

I can’t say enough good things about Nicole’s writing style as she has a way of grabbing my attention and holding it the entire time.

Loved Maya & Jase!!

I listened to Recovery and it was a wonderful short story. Jase and Maya were raw and real and show two sides of how addiction affects your life. Jase was a healer and even though he went through something tragic that turned his life upside down, he didn’t let that be his down fall. He found a way to cope and give back to other’s in his position. Maya was strong, reserved, and tentative to let people in. She didn’t want to be vulnerable and was afraid to lose the people she cared about. After spending time with Jase, she slowly let her walks down and let love in. Nicole’s stories are always so gripping and angsty , it tugs at the heart all the while reading it, you feel gutted by the emotional roller coaster. This story was definitely an insta love, steamy, emotional beautiful story. I definitely wanted more Maya and Jase. As for the narration, Lacy Laurel and Tor Thom were the perfect pick for Maya and Jase. They did a wonderful job bringing the story to life.

Loved this story!!

Mya has lost the most import person in the world to her. And she just needs to get away and blend in. She doesn’t want anyone in her life... everyone leaves.

Jase is a tattoo artist and ends up being one of Myas roommates. He’s wildly attracted to her from the beginning. He needs to help her but she doesn’t want it.

I won’t give anything away here, but this is Ana excellent story of live and loss that you’ll love!

Tor Thom and Lacy Laurel are wonderful and did such a great job with the narration.

Sweet love story between broken souls.

I'm like an addicted to these people's story!
I end one immediately wanting to start another! It's addictive for sure!

This one takes us back to Logan and Quinn's life. Mya is another lost kids from their past, in need of a fresh start after losing her little brother for the violence of a big city.

Jase is a tattoo artist at Lyrics and Ink.

Like every other couple on this series, they both have a dark past they're trying to overcome and left behind.

I liked this story, but there wasn't really much to it. It was short, with Jase helping Mya heal and trust again. Almost zero angst and drama really.
It was sweet to see them falling in love and choosing each other at the end.

Again we have a glimpse of the next couple, with the manwhore Finn and the tortured Charity.

I'm really enjoying to do these audiobooks, because they're fast paced, with no dragging and I can see previous characters, which is always a bonus to me.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Narrated by Lacy Laurel and Tor Thom
I honestly almost switched to the ebook... Their narration wasn't bad, but their dragging voice and accent were hard for me to understand at the beginning, especially hers, and it was kinda of annoying to endure during the whole book.
English isn't my first language, so maybe it was my problem, but since this is also MY review, that's how I've felt... Like they could have been more clear with their narration... It was like she was with an egg inside her mouth and he was bored out of his mind.

Recovery

Recovery is Mya and Jase's story. Mya lived in one of the same foster houses as one of the characters we met in the other books, and Jase works at a tattoo place with the guys. Mya shows up to stay with her friends from the foster system after losing her 11 year old brother. She needs to get out of the city, and to some place smaller. She ends up staying above the tattoo place, and becomes roomates with Jace and three other men. Mya is hesitant to get to know anyone, because she just wants to be alone at first, however she can't stop her connection with Jase. They start to have a relationship, but then Mya finds something out about Jase, and isn't sure if she can trust him anymore. She takes this really hard. We learn how Mya's brother passed away, and what Jase is hiding. Can Mya learn to live with Jase's secret? Will she be able to be with him? Will Jase be able to support Mya when she needs him? Will Mya listen to Jace's friends about his struggles and believe them? I really liked listening to this book, and can't wait to see the next book with these characters.

Good Story

This is the second book in the Clarity Series. This story is well written, and emotional. Jase and Mya are great characters. I love the friendship in this story. Lacey Laurel and Tor Thom did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Charity, the next book in the Series.

Even better in audio

I love this book and when I read one I love and it comes out in audio I try to listen because killer narrators take a book and just elevate it. Nicole had an amazing knack for picking the absolute perfect voices for her characters and this one is no exception! They hit it out of the park!

There is just never enough! Another heart wrenching story of hurt, pain and love. Mya just lost her brother and needs help and she needs out of St Louis. She turns to Rhys and he sends her to Lryic and Ink in Nashville. Friends from the past hep her with a job and a place to stay. What she wasn’t counting on was big hot inked up roommates. You are probably going to love and hate Mya as this story goes because you will feel protective of Jace and she does his dirty. I love Nicole’s stories because she doesn’t make it all hearts and rainbows. She make it’s raw, gritty and real. So real you’re heart will hurt, your anger will flare and your soul will sing al from the words on the pages. The more of her stories you read the more invested in these Characters you will become and you will root for them with all your might!
