Excellent realistic tale from South Africa of a Brit ex-soldier turned mercenary caught up in Way More than he bargained for. His sweetheart back home is connected to some government higher-ups and between them both they try to stop some very bad guys from getting away with Murder, literally. Lots of action and blood, with several other plot lines moving independently, coming together for a grand finale. Definitely worth a listen/read. I got mine from Audiobooks Unleashed.

This is the amazing story concerning the search for oil and diamonds in Africa and the horrific events surrounding it. I'm not sure if this is an entirely true story but it definitely comes across like it could be. I listened to each word and couldn't believe that men could be so evil to others. I don't know whether the alcohol and drugs consumed by the man that wanted to run the distribution of the oil and diamonds influenced the evil that flowed from him or if he was just plain evil itself. This story gives us an inside view of what could have happened to the poor people of this section of Africa and the men in England who were financing it. I pray that things are totally different for these people now thanks to the bravery of a few. An excellent book!

Riveting story, the subject was a little much of the brutality and deception the dark history of Sierra Leone. The author did a good job of dealing with a person who has dark motives. Audio was good. Given audio for my voluntary review
