About this listen
Noah is still struggling to come to terms with his unwanted new life as one of the undead, and Khaz's attempts to reach his childe seem doomed to fail. Reese risked it all to save his human lover, Ashton, but he finds that his claim of pack leader might not keep him from losing everything. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and together, Reese and Noah set off on a mission to find Noah's old rebel group to help them turn the tables against the status quo that threatens them all.
Now that supernatural beings have seized control of the world, life has become a struggle for the humans who once held power. Witches, vampires, and werewolves determine the fate of every single human, but their moral compasses have long since been shattered. Rebels, free humans, and slaves all share dreams of hope, mercy, love, and more. But with their fate so uncertain, survival isn't enough...and they may have to sacrifice what is nearest and dearest to them if they want to change their lives.
Bought, Ravel, and Recoil feature different characters whose lives begin to come together in Owned and Temper. This dystopian series explores different aspects of the world, from utter darkness to the shining lights waiting to emerge. Because of this, the books range from dark erotica to romance to horror to action(ish) to bits of other things in between.

Story
All Dahlia wanted was her freedom. But first, she needed to buy out of her promised bonding - a promise that was made for her before she was even born. Almost a century of trying had taken its toll, and she did some things she isn’t proud of. She lost parts of herself along the way and flirted with the darkness inside her...and it flirted back. Everything in her life systematically blew up in her face one piece at a time. Blaming it all on the beautiful, egotistical vampire who showed up in her life would be easy, but it started long before he arrived.

Henry “call me Hank” Thompson used to play California baseball. Now he tends to a bar on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. When two Russians in tracksuits beat Hank to a pulp, he gets the clue: someone wants something from him. He just doesn’t know what it is, where it is, or how to make them understand he doesn’t have it. Within twenty-four hours, Hank is running over rooftops, playing hide-and-seek with the NYPD, riding the subway with a dead man at his side, and counting a whole lot of cash on a concrete floor. All because of some Russian hoods and a flat-out freakshow of goons.

Vampires slaughtered my family. No one believed me until I met some new friends, who promised to help me get justice. But nothing prepared me for Marcus Varik. Tall, dark, and mind-numbingly sexy. But he’s also shy, protective, and adorably eccentric. Oh God, I should have never agreed to betray him. Hopefully, it's not too late to fix my mistake before I lose more people I love.

Three strikes and you're out? If only. In my world, it's more of a one-and-done situation, even if you get that one strike trying to do something good. I've been on the run for years, never staying anywhere too long, never getting attached to anything or anyone because he will always find me. Bane. He's the best bounty hunter in existence, and I'm the one that got away, well, keeps getting away. If he wasn't so sexy I would hate him for it.

Another masterpiece. I was glad when Noah embraced Khaz, needing to be close to him. And I was glad when Khaz told Noah he loved him.
Narrator Jack Noble does a fabulous job and I can't wait for the next book.

R. Phoenix always fulfills my darker needs
will not lie this series is not my usual read but every now and them i need something that is not all rainbows and gumdrops and R. Phoenix is always able to fill that dark need that arises once and a while. again also not much of a cliffhanger kind of girl but she keeps things interesting and keeps me wanting more enough to hang around for the next book.

Loved it and can't wait for more!!
I loved this book and I can't wait for the next one (even if it will be the last one so this make me a little sad, I love this universe so much). In this arc of the story we see Reese and Ash working side by side with Noah and Khaz (even if Khaz is totally against it) to fight against their common enemy, the new "Status Quo".
When things aren't going as they should, Khaz shows Noah that he's there for him, that he's ready to die for his "baby", and this one was one of my fave parts in the series because of how much Khaz suffered for his mistakes, I think it was time for Noah to give him a second chance ^^
The narration was superb like always with Jack Noble, I listened to it in one go and I could't stop. His narration is every time better.

Greed, Control..hope?
Refraction is the sixth book in The Fate of the Fallen series by R. Phoenix. The story continues the journey through injustice, violence, control, manipulation, cruelty, greed and inhumanity. Yet there is a sense of hope. The characters make you care about their futures. Cant wait for next book. .
Jack Noble does a fantastic job narrating this story and keeping the mood dark and chilling. Perfect mood through voice.

as good as the ebook
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening, but not more then twice a year.
it's like a B

Things are starting to take a good turn
This was a surprising group of new allies that formed. I'm waiting for more repercussions from the sctions of the rebels. I smell evil and retribution! Hace seems more like the evil he lives with (Elias) with each encounter. I'm hoping his humanity can be revived! Some touching moments for Khaz and Noah! How far will Reese go for Ash?? I can't wait for the elders and status quo to get some karma!!! Loved the narrator's voice and expressions.

Thank you for the ARC Audio
Thank you for the arc audio, I voluntarily give this a honest review. when Noah's new life is so uncertain, can Khaz prove Noah means more to him than just property. when Ashton's life is at stake Reese will do what needs done to protect him anyway he can. this was a great new addition to the fate of the fallen series, can't wait for book 7. Jack Noble did and great job narrating these books. High recommend for this author.
