Publisher's summary

An Epic Tale of self-discovery full of action, adventure, love, loss, friendship, dragons, elves, drow, magic, and so much more.

Elf born, raised by wolves, and talks to dragons… Who is this girl? She wants to find out, too, as she abandons the safe confines of her home to discover the truth for herself. Blessed with a magic unlike any before, she discovers a world at war ruled over by monstrous dragons, where the land has been slowly dying beyond that of her cozy little wolf den. The young elf discovers she is known by many names, and some believe her to be the one of prophecy meant to unite the land of Onis. It is no easy task that has been placed on her shoulders. There is no love between the dragons, the elves, the humans, the dwarves, and the drow, so getting them to listen will be quite a challenge. Luckily, the wolf child has an unprecedented team of cohorts to aid and guide her on her quest, but is she ready for such a challenge? Will the ancient dragons’ extreme hatred be overcome so that peace can be brought to the land? Or, will the young girl fail in her quest and bring forth an even greater war between the races?

Join this young elf on her epic quest for peace and self-discovery as she battles against monsters, forms unbreakable bonds, and faces the reigning ancient dragons of Onis.

Epic epic !

Great fantasy, well-developed plot & characters. World-building?

Check. Check. check.

My only negative is I wasn’t as taken by the narration. (As I’m reviewing the audio version.)

Raised by Wolves, Child of Prophecy 4.5🌟

Parents- PG13- good for middle school to adults
Language- PG- I don't remember any if there is it's minimal and no f-bombs
Violence- PG13- nothing too graphic
Sexual Content- PG13 mostly the kissing and teen romance variety with desires and being drawn to each other, but not a heavy part of the story

If I could have I would have given this one 4.5🌟. This is a unique coming of age fantasy about a elf child that is raised by wolves (adopted mother is a wolf goddess). She's 16 and is coming into her powers and learning so much about other cultures and healing the gaps between them... along with an interesting beginning of a love triangle (dare I say it is a bit similar to Twilight...). This one had it all, elves, dragons, orcs, drow, many other mythical animals and beasts. It really was a fun read and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Narrators both (4🌟) did a great job with the different voices, acting, evening singing! My only complaint is that the overall speed was slow, but it was fixed between 1.25-1.35x speed. I do tend to listen a bit faster, but my chosen speed on this one was 2x which for me is higher then normal.

Coming of Age Fantasy

A fun and engaging quest/prophecy adventure story. There is plenty of action, drama, and a touch of romance, even a love triangle developing.
It was nice to see that even though the elf girl of the prophecy has an amazing amount of power and ability, she's not infallible. She still has to figure things out as she goes, and makes mistakes.
Excellent world building, and the way the magic works makes sense. All the characters are well-written and add to the entertainment and development of the story.
The author and Aaron Smith made the story come alive. I liked the bits of music and songs that are included in the audio version.

Excellent

I don't even know where to start with this one. This has all the elements of a perfect fantasy story. It will draw you in & you won't want to put it down. Extraordinary characters that will make you laugh & some will make you curse out loud. I loved the songs that the author included & the voices were great. I listened to the audiobook which I highly recommend. This story is full of magic, emotion, prophecy and curage. Pavula was a small elf girl who was raised by a wolf and could talk to dragons. Her wolf mother trained her to harness the spirits of all the elements knowing that someday Pavula would leave her to fulfill the prophecy. She was the child who would bring an end to the war with dragons & bring peace to Onis. From the day Pavula left her wolf mother she had no idea how her journey would turn out. She had to go to the mountains & talk to the Queen of the silvers but she wondered how she could do it alone. Along the way she gains some companions. She meets Darvan a human wizard and his Uncle Hort who is a dwarf. Also Horts wife who has magic of her own & is also a healer. Included is also a drow and a dragon. As Pavula and her friends work to complete her task they will face danger and suspicion but they all want to see Pavula succeed. This story will make you9 laugh and also mad at times. I absolutely can't wait for book 2.

Great Coming-Of-Age Fantasy

This was my first experience with R. E. Davies' work, and I enjoyed it. The story featured a female elf child that was raised by wolves, could speak with dragons, and just might be the person that fulfills a prophecy of old. I appreciated the complex worldbuilding. I liked the characters and the friendships that were forged by the trials and tribulations that abounded throughout the tale. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Aaron Smith's narration was awesome, and his performance added to the story's entertainment. I appreciated the additional voice provided by R. E. Davies. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
