The producer of the audiobook is an award-winning sound designer and composer. When he and his wife struggled with sleep apnea, he searched for an audio program that would help. "I mostly found cheap sound effects with repetitive, looping tones. Granted, my background makes me a little picky, but I found these programs more annoying that relaxing."
So he set out to record the best sounds he could find. The ocean waves, rain, thunder, streams and waterfalls are all original recordings.

Next, he experimented with tones. This program is the first to include arrangements of beautiful classical music. "I have produced over twenty experimental programs now and have had sleep doctors, patients, as well as my own friends and family members try them on. Helped me get through a tough night at the hospital. Pain was spiking and I couldn’t sleep for hours, but once the stream and classical music started, it was like my nervous system got a little break. The guided imagery was short and not too cheesy, and then it just faded into a long steady flow of calm. The music doesn’t sound like the usual generic loops—feels like someone actually cared making this. I switched to the stream-only version after a while and that one was even more grounding when the meds weren’t helping. Anyway, not a miracle cure, but it _actually_ helped me cope when nothing else was working. So for that, I’m grateful.

I usually toss and turn at night, but this really helped me chill out. The mountain stream and music combo is super calming, and I love that there’s also a version with just the stream sounds. The little intro at the start sets the mood, and after that, it’s just pure relaxation. Way better than the usual looping stuff I’ve tried. Definitely worth it if you want something peaceful to fall asleep to.

This is a nice audiobook that is true to its title and very relaxing. I liked the way the chapters are divided in 2 hour sections based on a theme. This made it so it was consistent in the sounds so it was very easy to relax and fall asleep.

I love this new approach to sleep aids. I don't remember when I first heard it, but it's been said that if you play classical music when your baby is first born (or even when its still in the womb) it will have a positive, educational effect on its development.
So why should that be any different for adults when we're sleeping?
The music is almost unnoticeable, but I'm sure it has had a positive effect on me.
This is now my preferred sleep sounds program.
The mountain stream sound is like natural white noise, and natural is always better.

I had a stress headache and am convinced I would have been up for hours.
Usually I would take some Melatonin and other medications but I had just bought this audiobook so I decided to give it a try.
After a few minutes of the suggested deep breathing I began to feel sleepy.
SO refreshing to find something to help me calm down and finally get some rest without medication.

This works for me, even on nights when I don't think I'm going to be able to fall asleep.
1. Set up my phone and my bluetooth speaker
2. Set the audiobook on pause
3. Say a prayer
4. Get comfortable in bed
5. Push play
6. Listen and relax
I don't know exactly when it happens of course, but I fall asleep. Last night I don't think it took more than 5 minutes.
I honestly hate to turn the sounds off in the morning.

I have now purchased all four of these titles, 1 - Rain & Distant Thunder, 2 - Peaceful Ocean Waves, 3 - Cascading Waterfalls and now 4 - Mountain Streams. I love these. I literally listen to these any time that I want to relax and have peace. I rotate the volumes on a daily bases for the variety. The love the seamless transititions, how it subdues the every day noises.

I really does help me to relax and fall asleep. Thank you!
