About this listen

After spending three weeks in a coma, Amy Thompson wakes up with no memory of the last two years. She remembers being a college student, but she can't recall when she graduated, why she traded in her Jimmy Choos for Doc Martens, or how she became estranged from her family. At her side is Adam, her handsome and affectionate boyfriend - but he might as well be a stranger.

The doctors believe that Amy will regain her lost memories, either little by little or all at once. Meanwhile, pieces of her past return to her in her dreams. She sees Adam - or someone who resembles Adam - but this man is still very different from the one who stands before her. Now, Amy must sift through her memories to discover who she was before the coma, who she is now, who she wants to be - and whether Adam is really as trustworthy as he claims.

This was such a different kind of story and at times almost painful to listen to. But in the end I was so happy I did. The story of Amy losing her memory and then trying to figure out who she was and what her life held was as I suspect true to life. The uncertainty and anguish over not trusting yourself or the people around you must be devastating. As a survivor of a brain injury I could relate and felt the story was very genuine.

A winner

This was different, which is what I liked best about it. The characters start in a bad place and have to struggle to try to find their way back to a good one. It's not perfect storytelling, but it is still worth a read.

Bonus Points for a Good Concept

Kate Rudd is one of my favorite narrators and Remembering Us is one of my favorite books... Can't go wrong. I love how Stacey Lynn takes you from memories to what is happening now. I'm so happy with the ending and would have had a conniption if it had ended any other way.

Nice, feel good story.

Beautifully written & performed

** spoiler alert ** This book was ok. I love the amnesia trope and I like how the author approached this so that you aren't sure if Adam is a good guy or not. But she did too good of a job of making me think he wasn't. There were times I wanted her to leave him because he would get angry with her for not remembering she loved him. Every time she remembered a piece of him, it was always a memory of him with other women. I'm not a fan of that. I also think no one in her life was properly supporting her amnesia. She was constantly lied too and everyone was keeping secrets from her. No matter how much she asked for the truth, they kept putting her off. Everyone pushed her towards Adam when she really just needed time to get to know him again. The therapist was the worst of them. I was just frustrated for her and that took alot of my enjoyment from the story.

I borrowed the audiobook from Kindle Unlimited and loved the narrator. She has a great male voice for a female...if that makes sense.

Loved the narrator!

so long, somewhat boring. Some of it was good and there was potential but it just fell completely flat for me or something. I didn't even finish the last chapter....and I made it that far :/

UGGGG

Foul language, sexual content outside of marriage, some of it just doesn’t make sense.
Not my cup of tea
