About this listen

She was supposed to be his one-night distraction. But their attraction is undeniable.

Introverted Daisy McGregor is used to being a wallflower, but what she lacks in style, she makes up for with an acerbic wit, a passion for life, and a deep devotion to her family. So she'll suffer through her sister Dahlia's bachelorette party and accept the cloud of pity for going stag to the wedding.

Out at the pub, sexy bad boy Mason Carlisle is a reluctant wingman tasked with entertaining Daisy while his brother flirts with her oldest sister, Daffodil. When the plan fails and Mason's true intent is revealed, he feels intense guilt - and a sensual spark of desire for the unlikeliest of women.

Daisy decides to use this unfortunate encounter to her advantage: to make it up to her, Mason will be another kind of wingman, playing the role of her boyfriend and wedding date. Will their ruse unravel completely - or will Mason and Daisy's undeniable attraction ignite a scorching love affair that knows no rules?

An Imperfect Heroine is Perfect!

Too many times heroines of romance novels represent a perfection of beauty most women can never hope to obtain. She finds real love with wit, wisdom, and a wide load. Great book!

The book kept me engaged from beginning to end. I loved following Daisy story from shy girl to confidence swirling around her.

❤️❤️❤️

New narrator for me. This hit home with the low self-esteem and never believing anyone capable of being genuine. Loved this! A bit of a slow start but worth the wait. The H is a hot dream come true 🥰

Who’s who

It was very challenging knowing who’s voice the narrator was portraying. She never really deepened it enough for a man, and her voice is deep enough.

It was the storyline that kept me interested. Can’t wait to read book 2.

NOW WHO WOULD NOT WANT A MAN LIKE MASON? He’s rich, good looking, has an exciting past and gives his woman a lot of TLC

4.5 Stars. "Ugly Duckling meets Prince Charming"

I loved this book! Really sweet story about a girl (Daisy), who's been overlooked her whole life. Constantly compared to her beautiful sisters and found lacking, has left her with a damaged self image, a complete absence of self esteem and confidence. She thinks she's not good enough, and so she has an "I give up" attitude towards her appearance.
Mason is a former bad boy/military guy/ underwear model who has just come back to town after many successful years. He finds himself pressured by his brother to "distract" Daisy one night at a bar, and although reluctant to do so, he finally gives in, only to find himself unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised by the girl. Although somewhat charmed, he also finds that the self deprecating woman really needs to see herself in a better light, therefore making it his mission to help her. When Daisy overheard his brother mentioning that Mason was doing him a favor by engaging Daisy, she is not surprised, but appealing to Masons guilt, she asks him to be her fake date at her sister's wedding. And so they embark in a series of fake dates that unsurprisingly start to feel very real.
I loved the premise of the story, the idea that we're always more than just what we look like, but also that people see what we project, and beauty is not always on the eye of the beholder, but also in the way we see ourselves, -if that makes sense-, and we sometimes need someone to remind us of what we are and what we can be.

I really loved Mason. I thought he was the quintessential gentleman with a hero complex. He really wanted to help Daisy, but he also saw beneath the surface, past all appearances. He is inherently good and honest, mature, with no tolerance for shallow, self centered snobs, and really good looking. He was the absolute whole package.
I also liked Daisy, although her self deprecating attitude and lack of self worth were off putting more often than not. I found her frustrating and a little annoying, but otherwise smart and interesting.
Great Narration by Ingeborg Riedmaier.

Good Story overall!

The story itself wasn't bad but I did get really irritated by the h and her over the top attitude towards the H. I do understand that she had a tough time but much of that was of her own making. The story does end well with the h learning the 'two sides' rule. The next story sounds just as tough as the new h was pretty brutal towards the H in this story.
