INTRIGUING SHORT STORY

At just over 40 minutes long, this story is short but very interesting. I definitely got pulled in. From the dreamlike state to reality, I was intrigued.

Both the author, C. D. Tavenor, and narrator, Michael Westmoreland did a great job.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

This story is written like a dream. During the beginning, it was difficult to understand what was going on, but that made it more realistic as the reader feels just as confused as the main character, Jacob. Remnants takes place in a different setting from the first story in this series, planet Earth. It also has different characters. It is a fast paced narrative with beautiful imagery.

There are a few inconsistencies with the sound of the main characters voice, but the narrator did a good job otherwise, using different voices for different characters. Near the end of the story it became clearer how the two stories in the series are linked. I look forward to reading the next installment!

Book is shorter than 1 but still filled with an incredible short story of SciFi intrigue and a twisty ending to make you think...WTF!

Okay I know the name of the AI on the ship from another book, her name was Jill I read it. I will remember eventually it was another CD Tavenor book that I enjoyed. This story keeps you going from start to finish, there is a problem to solve and it needs to be done fast. I enjoyed the narrator’s performance the entire time.

This is the sixth book I have read/listened to by this author and I would gladly listen to another. Each story is original. This one end quite abruptly and we are given the name of a character who is a major player in The Chronicles of Theren. I wonder if there will be an other instalment later or if we will learn more in the third Theren book.———

This is the second book I have listened to by this narrator ( Michael Westmoreland ). He uses almost the same voice for the Captain and Jacob. He differentiates the other characters, both males and females. ———

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive / overly descriptive violence, or swearing. ———
