A nice pairing

I enjoyed this book and the narrator was, as always, amazing. I love his voice and find it to be very soothing. The story that the author has written is quite fabulous, I listened in one day, had to keep going. Where there is only one person, yet to be joined by Adam & Eve to grow as they get to their mission is very well written.the, action and science is believable. I’m hoping that the 2nd book is just as exciting, I want more alien interaction, friendly or not so friendly.
I highly recommend this for the story and narration. I do believe I have not heard or read anything by this author before, looking forward to the next book!

very interesting

I really like the world building in the end. the early chapters are very lonely but needed for setting the scene.

Good Story… Unfortunate Cliffhanger Ending

Liked the story premise and performance just fine. Novel concepts for otherwise impossible human travel to another star. Not that there is anything wrong with having multiple books in a series but one must ease the reader/listener into the transition more smoothly than this title does and certainly not make it look like the break was done solely to get you to paying for the next installment but having that next installment ready to go offering a preview teaser at the end. Had this title left the reader with a more satisfying ending with a epilogue summarizing generally how the protagonists moved on from nearly loosing their guiding AI and at least exploring the discovery at the end some with lots of questions for the next book, maybe the ending would not have seemed so calculated. You have to leave the listener with the option to feel the ending was satisfying enough NOT to consume another credit or buy another book. If the story and writing is good enough then moving the audience to the next book does not require marketing gimmicks. The author chooses to just end the story hanging having overcome a serious threat and the implication that the threat may (and probably will) return in the next book(s). Not sure I feel like rewarding that behavior by using a credit to listen to the rest of the story. BTW, i’ve noticed a TREND when it comes to book series on Audible… let the subscribers stream the first book in the series ONLY and use credits for the rest. See how that works?

Not my cup of tea

First off I love science fiction and a good story. The narration is really important to me and am a fan Edoardo Ballerini. The story in itself had all the components of a good story - even a great story. I think the way the storey was laid out may have been the problem. I felt there was little development of Adam and Eve the main characters other than the AI guiding and protecting them. The situations which arouse were plausible but never really grabbed me and took me in. I realize there are many other books in the series and that there are others that are invested in the storyline. It just not my cup of tea.

Wonderfully fascinating trip ....

from the perspective of the AI. An intriguingly mysterious story. All told in a most soothing of voices. A great tale without the depravity & gross perverseness of typical modern stories. This proves entertainment can be had without being dragged through the gutter of human decline.

It was okay

The book was only 8 hours long. Same for the second one. Could have easily combined the two into one book. Not worth another credit to find out.

Interesting story but one book is enough!

Especially towards the end.= with all the twist and turns. Perhaps if they had just allowed the prologue to the next book to play, I may have been interested in listening to the subsequent books, but listening to the next story bored me. On book is sufficient.

Good Hard SF Make Room for AI

Good start to a promising series. Plus included free with the plus subscription. The premise is original and The log entry style fits the story well.

Uh...

Great beginning and narrative and slowly petered out into boring nothingness. Idiotic AI story so common these days. I'm not a fan of AI stories. They're just an excuse for authors to not develop real characters. No credible sci fi here. Stopped short of finishing book near the end.

Great! I could not put it down.

Real science fiction. Although it streches science, it was believable. I looked the story and the characters.
