About this listen

His rescue instincts are top notch. But fighting Mother Nature might be tough, even for him . . .

Dr. Tara Alvarez has spent so much time in her lab that she almost forgets how to interact with humans. But all her sacrifices will be worth it when her experiments succeed, and she's able to help save the world. Hopefully, an impending hurricane, a dangerous misunderstanding, and the heroic arrival of her childhood crush won't drag her too far off track . . .

Ex-Navy SEAL Austin Mace has executed countless missions with his K9 partner, Diesel. But nothing in his training prepared him for rescuing Tara—his best friend's little sister—or the protective, possessive feelings she stirs in him. Now all he has to do is figure out how to get her to safety before the hurricane destroys everything in its path . . . including them . . .

Is happily ever after possible in the eye of a storm?

Contains mature themes.

Excellent story and performance

Adventure, action, suspense, romance, great characters, and dogs! What more could you want!!! This book has it all, along with interesting information. There's always something to learn in Fiona's books. The book is really enjoyable. And the very nice wrap up in the epilogue makes me happy. The performance is excellent!

Entertaining read!

I enjoyed this one! It was entertaining and held my attention the entire time. I enjoyed the characters and watching these two come together. They haven’t seen each other for years but still connected through her mother and brother and they had a connection when they were little that is coming back around now. Tara’s mom has that little extra connection to the world that seems to give her a heads up/idea when the people she loves are in danger/need and she raises the flag for Tara which sets everything into place. This story was interesting and entertaining with the jungle atmosphere and the storm as well as the play with pirates and treasure. Plenty to hold my attention and keep me entertained throughout.
Narrator did a good job with the story!

Loved it

There was only one thing wrong with this audiobook and that was the narrator mispronouncing the name of the island of Dominica. It is pronounced do-man eek-a.
Other than that the story was good and well worth listening to.

Fiona Quinn wrote it but narrator ruined it

There are excellent actors who perform the story as the author intended. And then, there are people who simply read the story making it difficult to discern who is saying what about what and why, what’s happening, huh? This audible book is perfect if one has trouble falling asleep, monotone perfectly dulls the storyline.
