About this listen

With her shining gift for “exquisite and enchanting” (Bookpage) storytelling, Jude Deveraux sweeps listeners away in a breathtaking follow-up to her beloved New York Times best-seller The Summerhouse - where a marvelous new adventure awaits.

Magic most definitely resides in the Maine summerhouse where the mysterious Madame Zoya has granted the innermost wishes of its visitors. Now, three women have come to this special place with one thing in common: a painful past they would each like to rewrite. Amy, who hides a heartbreaking loss behind her seemingly perfect marriage and family...Faith, a widow in her 30s whose deepest grief is for a man from years ago...and Zoe, an artist shunned by her hometown for reasons she doesn’t know after a traumatic night erased her memory.

With their mystical powers, Madame Zoya and her sister, Primrose, are about to transport the trio to 18th-century England to alter Amy’s ancestry. But although surprises await each of them, will stepping back in time bring the women the happy endings they seek?

Loved this book! Listened to the whole book in one day. It kept my attention through out. Especially enjoyed the characters change in perspectives with an appreciation for what they have as well as taking responsibility for their lives.

This book stood out in the series. The twist and turns to the end. some of the chapters could have been expanded more. Needed further background or explanation. Amy's personality why was she so stern and how did all of a sudden she go from over protective tidy mom to getting her hands dirty. Zoe and Russel relationship was strange. They fell in love after 3 days. What led to rhat??? A good book worth the read. Left a lot to readers imagination to fill in blanks.

Happy ending

The story was great, but rushed at the end. I wanted more about the other two characters.

Rushed

Fact, I liked it better than the first one, I guess because I liked all three main characters a whole lot. I gave the story a four star only because I wish it could have been three times as long. They were great descriptions and details on the first visit by all three women, but the second visit and all the life changes we’re done and narrative style, not play-by-play descriptions. This is my favorite series from Jude Deveraux. A big thumbs up. I will keep an listen to this one again. And probably yet again.

A great sequel to the first book!

It's not often I like a sequel as well, or better than the first book. But this one, I do. It's got lots of twists and turns and surprises. A very enjoyable read! And I like that the author didn't feel the need to give evey little detail of a sex scene!

Liked it even more than the first book!

True to form Jude Devereux penned realistic characters with great character development. The story flowed effortlessly and I had a huge smile at the end of the book. Might be one of my new favorites.

I liked this book from page 1

I read 'The Summerhouse' how many years ago? It left me with a feeling of 'what if'. I was so excited to see this book & loved how everything turned out.
