About this listen

Ryan Hendrix is dead...or so his family, his girlfriend, and his fellow Marines think.

Terribly wounded during the battle for Hermes, Ryan Hendrix was repaired with cybernetics, transformed into a weapon by Fleet Intelligence...and covertly dropped onto the enemy-occupied colony at Aphrodite to sabotage the enemy and build up a civilian resistance.

While Ryan fights the real battle behind enemy lines, Travis Miller and Jessica Leer struggle with politics...and their new commands. The Earth government is too scared of losing more cruisers to try to take back the occupied colonies, so Travis and Jessica find themselves stuck raiding enemy outposts, trying to draw their attention away so Ryan and the rest of his commandos can do their job.

But Travis Miller didn’t get to be the head of the largest task force in human history by sitting back and doing what he’s told. And when one of those raids turns up key intelligence, Travis will do whatever he has to in order to get back in the real fight.

Book three in the explosive Holy War series from the number one Amazon best-selling author of Contact Front, Rick Partlow.

I have been listening to the series at three bucks now I can’t complain to pass the time storylines pretty decent course. There’s quite a bit of embellishment it’s about seems a little ridiculous but it’s not that bad of a series.

Great

Overall it was an awesome listen. Only minor negative comments that I have is the same as the first book which is there’s too many changes of parts to the story where you get lost on such as ground forces to ship action to fighter dogfight. You always figure it out but you have to figure out where you are first.
.

Revelation is the third novel in this series. Mr. Partlow likes his character, Hendrix, so much that he contrives to give him superhuman powers and writes an entire novel with the marine as central character. The plot centers on Hendrix’s efforts to build an insurgency among human colonists on a planet subjected by the the Tawnee. I think Mr. Partlow excels in describing combat and this novel did not disappoint. However, the outcome of any armed encounter seems to require Hendrix’s bionic upgrades to be successful. I much preferred Hendrix when he was a “normal” marine. I am pretty sure the Sgt. Hendrix from the earlier novels in the series would have been perfectly capable of rallying the insurgents and leading them on the missions described in this novel without any bionic upgrades. Frankly, I think Revelation should be marketed as a stand alone novel starring the “enhanced” Hendrix. I thought this novel contributed little to the advancement/resolution of the Human-Tawnee conflict told in the series. I have yet to read the fourth book in the series. However, I am confident that fans would not miss much by simply skipping Revelation and jumping to number four.
