About this listen

An exercise in counterintelligence.

In Revelations, the final volume of the Alien Contact Trilogy, Dr. Jacques Vallee presents startling evidence that well-constructed hoaxes and media manipulations have misled UFO researchers, diverting them from the UFO phenomenon itself. Vallee takes listeners step by step into the tangled web of UFOlogy’s dark side, in an effort to clear the ever-thickening underbrush that has obscured the real nature of the UFO phenomenon.

Extremely interesting

The author has a refreshing perspective co-mingling belief and skepticism regarding the UFO phenomenon. Would recommend to those who regard both blind faith in, and rejection of, UFOs as naive.

A critical evaluation of ufology

This is a fine critique of ufology from its beginning though the last decade of the 20th century written by a long standing star of the UFO phenomenon.

Fantastic!

This is an amazing wake up call for everybody! The author's experience is second to none and he has done the heavy lifting for all public societies of the world. I am humbled at the notion and validation that there really is a phenomenon and I'm also sickened at the notion and fact that our societies are being played by some type of psi-op campaign to control the thinking and direction of the masses. I'm sure the groups involved are well intentioned but the manipulation is nothing short of brutal. This sober wake-up call was exactly what I needed to pump the brakes on the imagination which is on high alert as a result of the last 5-10 years of astounding claims made by multitudes of people across the planet, including well trained observers, scientists, and people of high credibility. Unfortunately, this book was written in the '90s and so much has happened since then that it is definitely outdated and doesn't include any of those recent revelations that have been blowing everybody's mind. As a result, in addition to my recommendation of the series, I would also recommend reading the authors more recent books if you are interested in the subject. This trilogy is now my favorite collection on the subject. It reveals the falsehoods of other authors and their books which I have recently read with claims that were jaw-dropping and ripe with mystery and wonder.

Old Book/Outdated Details/ Audio Release is New/ Book & Data is 33 Years Outdated

I thought that this was a new book by Jacques Valley. This is an audio production of a 1991 publication that was just released on Audible. It is 33 years outdated in modern ufology research and in Jacques research and personal beliefs on matters discussed in this book. This could lead people to think the opinions expressed in this book are Jacques current beliefs. in Jacques most recent publications it is clear he has evolved his thinking on many of the feelings he had in this book. I think this Audible title should have something that clearly states when this was published, not just when it was released on audible.

lastly, the performance of the reading was not anything like how Jacques speaks. it made Jacques words seem real snarky, aggressive and arrogant when that is the opposite of the man in how he speaks and how his words are received and interpreted. The reading was a real disservice to the great and thoughtful work that Jacques did when this was originally published.

I recommend the book, just understand it is from 33 years ago and the ufology puzzle is still incomplete but many pieces discussed in this book have become much clearer or new evidence has come to light in those 3 decades. This book is a good starting point to understand theurky and challenging past of this topic. I cannot recommend Jacques Vallee's work. He is a real champion for science and truth in this search to understand The Phenomenon.

The great debunker

It seemed this author was set from the start to explain away some of the UAP stories as fake or absurd. At one point the author stated Bob Lazar was trying to reverse engineer space craft with a volt meter. Completely inaccurate which makes me doubt many other of his examples. The author speaks as if he sees faults in the stories that others don’t but yet conveniently leaves out the more convincing parts. Author way too arrogant and narcissistic.
