About this listen

Best-selling author and Grammy-winning musical superstar Naomi Judd shares her devastating personal story of depression to spread awareness and encourage others with the disease.

The world knows Naomi Judd as one of the most successful and best-loved country music stars ever. What the world hasn't known - until now - is that after her 2010 and 2011 North American tour with Wynonna, Naomi fell into a debilitating and terrifying depression that seemingly came out of nowhere. Just months after the successful tour ended, Naomi truly believed she had every reason to end her life. Facing severe depression, terrorizing panic attacks, PTSD, toxic drug poisoning, and addiction, she spent the next two and a half years in psychiatric hospitals, undergoing treatments and searching for answers. In River of Time, Naomi describes the agonizing toll this took on her and shares her message of hope after surviving the most painful period in her life.

I have never heard someone be so real and raw about their mental health struggle. I am reading this after she lost her life to the illness. She was a wonderful woman and I’m grateful that she left this book as part of her legacy. God bless you Naomi for sharing your life and journey.,

Profound!

May God be with Naomi’s family during this healing time. I pray that anyone who struggles with anxiety and or depression never feels alone or helpless, reach out to someone. She was a beautiful lady with a heart of gold and she will live on in our hearts forever.

The struggle she goes through is truly heart breaking. Her story is so real and raw. It lets people who may not suffer from depression get an idea of how horrible this disease can be on someone.

RIP

I have a new hero. I listened shortly after Naomi’s suicide. I’m so sad that after such a courageous story of healing, this amazingly talented, extremely empathic woman who so inspired, cared for, and encouraged others eventually faced the demon of depression once more to the point that she did succumb to it and take her own life. I’m so very sad for her family. I’m so grateful that as a believer in Jesus Christ, this precious & thoughtful woman is now out of pain forever and completely whole & free.

The very best audio book!

It’s so surreal to listen to her battle through her depression and the last words being “I’m still here” now after she’s gone. It’s also nice to know she’s no longer dealing with the past or struggles. She’s resting in Jesus ♥️

So surreal
