Publisher's summary

They had unfinished business.
She went there for closure, but he deserved his revenge.
They both learned to be careful what you wish for.

When Samantha Stone hears that the popular rock band Crushing Stones, created by her childhood sweetheart, is headlining at a new dance club nearby, she considers it fate. She’s waited seven years to get answers. Why had he deserted her without even saying good-bye?

Jonah “Cash” Carter has scanned the throngs of fans for years looking for her. Waiting. When he spots Sami in the crowd, he freezes mid-song. He’d named his band for a reason, and tonight would be the night he finally got to crush a Stone.

Too many secrets. Too much history. Can they find their way to the truth without destroying each other?

Author’s Note: Black Light: Rocked is a steamy bad-boy rocker romance with an HEA. It is meant for mature audiences only. It has explicit sexual situations as well as BDSM power-exchange elements that may not be suitable for all listeners.

All of the Lights

I enjoyed this audio. The narrators know how to draw you in. The author wrote a great HEA. It has your highs and your lows. You are rooting for the characters to find that HEA. I like the lite touch of the BDSM story line. Can’t wait for book 2

A little bit of everything with a side of angst

I loved this book. High drama, hot sex, mystery and bdsm. A winning combination. Narrators were spot on and gave the characters life and depth. highly recommend.

Could have been better…

A book about two high school sweethearts separated in high school then reuniting 7 years later…
The story was good until Sam turned into whining, 5 stage clinger… I was so ANNOYED! The guy says he doesn’t want to step foot in TX and she’s asking him to? I don’t know… I really have a hard time with manipulating women “beautiful,” bone skinny or not…

I don’t know, chapter 12 and I’m ready to give up…. The stupidity is stupefying… so resenting Jonah for not being there? Like in a week he should live his job and go on her beck and call? She expected way way too much and it becomes a bit unbelievable… even in fairy tales.. it’s BS

Samantha was just so infuriating! Especially for someone “educated” she didn’t even have common sense! I prefer some semblance of reality but these “heroines” just get my blood boiling! No girl in teal life would act this stupid unless super ditzy and I wonder if the “heroes” are really just ruled with what’s between their legs because I don’t know any man who would want to be with someone so stupid and clingy long term… I just can’t…

Overall the story had good bones but the nitty gritty were a bit off…to put it in a tight nutshell because anything else will be just spoilers…

Narration was good.

More BDSM than Rock

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I did enjoy this book, but I prefer more Rock story than BDSM. However, it was't too much. The beginning had me guessing who was Samantha's love interest, but it became clear not too far in. It certainly kept my interest until the very end. I enjoyed the story and loved the narrators. Two of the best in the business. This duo brings the story to life.

My Two Pennies

Well done Kai & Wen, I swear these two narrators can you pull you into a story within the first few chapters.
This is a great friends to lovers/rockstar romance with some light BDSM all bundled into a great read. Jonah “Cash” has made it big in the music industry and after years of silence he reunites unexpectedly with Sami while performing a concert at a club. Throughout the story we’re given breadcrumbs as to what happened years before that separated these two but it’s not until the very end that’s ALL secrets are revealed. In between we get some to be right beside Sami as shes introduced to the BDSM scene and with Jonah being a sexy dom doesn’t hurt. After a point I did figure out some of the storyline much earlier then it was revealed but it was still a story that I will recommend to grab. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Young love persists

I'm not usually a Rocker novel reader - but I loved this book. Kai Kennicott, and Wen Ross provided fantastic expressions to Livia Grants Rocked book.
Cheated in his youth and losing his mom, Cash harbors resentment and he uses his anger to fuel his career in the music industry.
Sam is angry that Cash abandoned her just when she needed him -
When there is a reunion - there are non-stop surprises.

Four stars.

This was a great listen. I don’t usually enjoy books with suspense as it makes me tense but I really enjoyed this book. I liked the depth of the characters and the layers that were peeled away. Well done.

Rough Beginning!

Updated review - audiobook April 2021**
I enjoyed the narration of this book. I liked the way the narrators seemed to play off of one another. I liked the way Samantha would be speaking and suddenly I would hear Jonah interject.

The beginning of this book was difficult to get through. It might set off triggers for some people. I thought they would deal with the rape, or their "confusion" about it head on. After what happened with Jaxson, Spencer, and Jonah, the incident seemed to fade away.

For some reason, and I can't explain why, that scene with Jonah (Cash) was much less visceral in the audiobook as opposed to actually reading the book. I also had some other insights with another read of Rocked.

There was never a good explanation of what was going on with Samantha. Why did she feel the need to give away almost everything she received? Why was she doing what she was doing? Was it the loss of Jonah or the situation with her father and uncle? Both she and Jonah had some darkness that each of them had tried to handle.

My original review is below. It waa definitely an experience. The rape, and it was rape, was difficult, but Jonah and Samantha's confusion and subsequent behavior was also unsettling.

I still feel like I was reading two different books. Or, like I started out in darkness and moved into the light. I wonder if that was deliberate so the reader could reconcile Jonah and Samantha being together, or if that was just the way the story flowed? If nothing else, it made me feel the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Original review Jan. 2019
Take the rape scene out and I could up the number of stars. The rape scene and aftermath was not only unexpected, but disturbing. The only way I could read the rest of the book somewhat objectively was to act like it wasn't part of the same book.

The rest of the Book was Jonah and Samantha reconnecting and revealing the lies, deceit, and cruelty that both she and Jonah experienced.

Jonah turned into a completely different person after he went to Sam's apartment to check on her. But, the only thing I could think is how different could he really be after what he did that night at the club? What was to stop his anger from getting out of control again?

They ended up with their HEA, but reading this book felt like reading two different stories.

Beautiful story

Really liked this story, I wished it was longer though, but I hope we will get back to the characters in the next book of the series. It was great to see the characters from Infamous Love. I really felt for Sami and Jonah and all the time they lost.
