Publisher's summary

Worldwide best-seller John Grisham goes rogue with his most suspenseful thriller yet....

Sometimes you have to fight dirty to get clean.

Sebastian Rudd takes the cases no one else wants to take: the drug-addled punk accused of murdering two little girls; a crime lord on death row; a homeowner accused of shooting at a SWAT team. l

Rudd believes that every person accused of a crime is entitled to a fair trial - even if he has to cheat to get one. He antagonises people from both sides of the law: his last office was firebombed, either by drug dealers or cops. He doesn't know or care which.

But things are about to get even more complicated for Sebastian. Arch Swanger is the prime suspect in the abduction and presumed murder of 21-year-old Jiliana Kemp, the daughter of the assistant chief of police. When Swanger asks Sebastian to represent him, he lets Sebastian in on a terrible secret . . . one that will threaten everything Sebastian holds dear.

Gritty, witty, and impossible to put down, Rogue Lawyer is the master of the legal thriller at his very best.

More connected short stories than a single novel

Its not terrible, the main character and the stories are interesting but it isnt a single gripping novel like his best can be.

It is about characters and a intense drama

For the hour or so into the book I felt a bit lost as this sounded more like a collection of short stories with strange endings but soon things started falling into place and things took off well. This book kept me engrossed. The characters are unique and interesting. The narration is excellent. It is not a who-did-it type of mystery, it is thriller-drama. I would say I felt I was listening to "Better Call Saul" - characters and interesting events keeping things on the edge happening around them. Though both are quite dissimilar the drama in this book is gripping and will keep you engrossed.

I would recommend it to anyone!

A great ride!

Excitement and legal intrigue throughout with enough depth in the characters to have kept me thoroughly engaged. Loved it.

Awesome read

Grisham always does it for me. Now with a clear narration, a lot more is added to both my speed and my enjoyment

Excellent novel..

Another of John Grisham's works of art. The man has an art of writing lawyer related books and this one didn't disappoint. Highly enjoyable read and hard to put down. Highly recommended.

Reads like a political diatribe

Depressing, slow moving, bitter. Not entertaining at all. Made it about half way through and gave up
