Publisher's summary

Rogue Protocol is the third entry in Martha Wells's Hugo, Nebula, Alex, and Locus Award-winning, New York Times and USA Today bestselling series, The Murderbot Diaries.

Starring a human-like android who keeps getting sucked back into adventure after adventure, though it just wants to be left alone, away from humanity and small talk.

Who knew being a heartless killing machine would present so many moral dilemmas?

Sci-fi’s favorite antisocial A.I. is back on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah's SecUnit is.

And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good.

Performed by David Cui Cui, Julienne Irons, Natalie Van Sistine, Alejandro Ruiz, Alysia Beltran, Bradley Foster Smith, Elena Anderson, Eric Messner, Jenna Sharpe, Khaya Fraites, Marni Penning, Michael John Casey, Scott McCormick, and Yasmin Tuazon.

Very fun listen.

I’ve been going through the Murderbot series, and I’ve enjoyed the two previous novels, but this one was especially engaging.
Growing up, my father used to tell me about how he would listen to the old radio serials, and I’m assuming that this format is very similar to how those used to sound.
I enjoy reading (absorbing?) books via the usual audiobook format, but I have to admit that having the audio dramatization with multiple characters, sound effects, etc. is a better way to go with stories like this.

Incredible performance

Graphic audio is producing phenomenal renditions of Martha Wells Murderbot Diaries. I believe it’s crucial to read/listen to the book before this production, only so as to appreciate how beautifully the cast of voice actors brought Rogue Protocol alive.

Terrible production

Voices; the fact that a significant amount of the narrative was taken out of the production

They should NOT have switched actors

I started the series on a long road trip to Death Valley and was surprised how much i liked it. I went through the first two books quickly and immediately bought the third. As soon as I started to listen though I thought something was wrong with my speakers. It was clear they changed actors and added sound effects, which was a great idea in principle. However they replaced the main character with a faster talking guy with a lisp. I realize we need to be sensitive to people with speech impediments, truly, but maybe he should chose a different job than audio book reader. A few times in the first ten minutes it sounded like Daffy Duck was reading to me and I couldn't take it. I have switched to the e-book and will obviously stay there.
