Publisher's summary

A laugh-out-loud, action-packed space adventure series from the author critics are calling "the unholy offspring of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett".

When petty criminal Cal Carver is locked in a cell with a deranged, semi-naked cannibal, he suspects his life has hit its lowest point. He is mistaken.

Abducted by aliens and whisked across the galaxy, Cal is thrown into a team of misfits and criminals and sent on a top secret mission for the president of Space. And that's when everything starts to go very, very wrong....

This bundle collects the first three best-selling adventures of Cal Carver and the crew of the dread ship Shatner, by multi-award-winning author Barry J. Hutchison:

So very funny

I’ve read the entire Space Team series a few times and am now making my way through the audio books. Phil Thron is an absolute gem as a reader, and Barry’s writing never disappoints. These will always be some of my favorite funny sci fi tales.

Great appetizer between more denser experiences.

Solid 4 star junk food series. I loved it!

I wrote individual reviews for the first two books on goodreads. Those were solid 4 star entertainment. Definetly a fun episodic silly TV show feel to every book so far. The writing had been amazing for the first two books due to great character writing and action focused plots. World building could use more work though, i felt the scope was zoomed in too much at times and I kinda didn't really know how the universe operated as much as I wish I did to give some more context to what's going on.

The 3rd book was no different, another enjoyable 4 star read. It's funny, high camp and moved a plot along in a way that it never feels like it drags.

Nothing particularly masterful about any of what is going on but I don't think the book is trying to be, it's definetly a yummy appetizer type of book that can be read in between those more denser experiences.

I'm definitely eager to get into the rest of the series and casually follow along to what next adventure this crew gets into.

An entertaining listen...

So long as you don't take it to seriously. It's a pretty chessey good old space adventure.

FONKING HILARIOUS!!

When an audible version of a book, any book, makes me laugh so hard I can't breathe I know it's a winner.

This one did that so many times I lost track. And by 'one' I mean these three books as this is books 1-3 in the Space Team-iverse.

Not giving anything away here, but Cal really needs to understand danger much, much quicker because one such laugh-till-I-gasped-for-breath encounter with a fuzzy orange space squirrel pretty much sums up his entire outlook on this strange new world he finds himself in.

The naming conventions are another bit of brilliance as evidenced in book 2...I mean just look at the title.

I've already paid FULL price for book 4, so I think the author owes me. I'll take a never-ending supply of Cal, Misette, Mech, Loren, and Splurt as payment, thankyouverymuch.

Fun and fast moving with a great Narrator

First, this 3 book collection is a great value. It's funny, fast moving and adventurous with enough twists and cliffhangers to keep you listening. If you liked the TV series Psych this is the vibe I got from the first 3 space team books. Phil Thron absolutely knocks this out of the park with fantastic narration, I'm amazed at the range of voices he's able to pull off. Highly recommend it!
