What if love awaits not around the corner but in a parallel reality at the edge of the universe or through the looking glass? In this collection of short stories, explore love from eight different angles of weird, fantastical, and out-of-this-world.

"Our Song": The smallest moments contain a lifetime of hope.

"Brian": Sometimes, love exists right under our noses. We just need a push to find it.

"A Mutual Feeling": Killed every day for a crime she didn't commit and reborn again the next. Alice Humboldt has a perfect life, but that perfect life is beginning to crumble around the edges, revealing truths about herself that she must find the courage to face.

"A Lover's Kiss": Even death needs love.

"Time After Time": After discovering a love note in the margins of a book, Lula is torn between the plans she's made for herself, and the love of a mysterious stranger.

"Intersections": One man. A thousand different futures. Livy has run from her destiny for so long, she has no idea what to do when fate forces her hand.

"Small Talk in Elevators": AI 1032 just wants her favorite human to be happy. What harm could a little matchmaking do?

A fun, quirky set of romances.

First of all, the narrator did a fantastic job performing the wide variety of characters. This book has several stories with several different characters. And some are VERY different! Well done.
The stories were varied. Romance. Quirky. Most of them, I smiled at the finish. And some I even sighed. Only one I didn't enjoy. It was from another world with strange names. Luckily, it wasn't very long! All in all, very entertaining.

Fall in love over and over again!

I loved this book. Which is kinda weird in itself, as I usually don't find enough good stories in a collection to make it worth the time it takes to read, or in this case, listen to, but yeah... CD Watson pulled it off in this weird collection of "Science Fictional" and paranormal-romance shorts.
My initial objective was to listen to a litRPG (because, that's my jam) a novella called A Mutual Feeling, but as soon as I started listening, I realized that I needed to listen to the whole thing, whereupon I encountered a veritable plethora of engaging characters and worlds... even time travel stories were represented (one of my favorite tropes), and I suspect this was CD Watson's way of giving a nod to the late, great, HG Wells. And, when don't I love an AI story (at least when it's an AI that's not trying to kill us. LOL)? Small Talk in Elevators is an AI tale... and its just delightful!
Rebecca Winder is the perfect person to give voice to this perfectly weird collection...
So grab this book and fall in love over and over again!

Excellent stories and great narration

Romancing the Weird is a collection of beautifully written romance stories by C.D. Watson, , each with a sci-fi or paranormal bent. As the author notes in her introduction, some of them have a sort of Twilight Zone feel. I found that particularly the case with the first story, ""Tiny Moments," which seemed to like it could have come from an "Alfred Hitchcock Show" or classic TZ episode.

I liked most of the stories, which you could tell were all written with a great deal of attention and tender loving care. The common theme for all of them is love and romance. The one I personally found most delightful was ""Small Talk in Elevators" which features an office building AI playing matchmaker to keep "her humans" happy.

The narration by Rebecca Wider was superb. She has a wonderful voice for this material, and I enjoyed listening to her performance from beginning to end. She and the author make a good team.

easy listen

This was a nice collection of quick listens for when you don't have time to delve into a book with deep plots or complicated characters.  The narration was excellent.

a collection of weird

So, not my favorite but definitely has a good blend of the unusual. Several shorts that all have an element of romance and a bit of sci fi to them. I personally found the majority of the shorts harder to follow in that I either felt thrown into the plot or it took too long to get to the storyline. I did enjoy a couple of the stories and definitely enjoyed the narration. I think the author has some great ideas and would be interested to read/listen to a full length.
