About this listen

Regan Fletcher

I used to have big dreams: finish college, make beautiful art, all while taking over my dad’s business. He wanted a legacy, and I wanted to give it to him. But his illness wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was his sudden need to keep me locked up in our mansion, safe and isolated. I want more from life, but could only spend my days waiting. Until one night, I came face-to-face with a street biker from a world far different from mine. What starts as him stalking me, quickly spirals into something deeper, and more deadly. I’m falling for a man who’s everything I should fear, yet he’s the only one who’s ever made me feel truly alive. But loving him means risking everything—my heart, my future, and my father.

Rook Emberson

Revenge has been my driving force for as long as I can remember. Cameron Fletcher stole everything from me, and I’ve spent years plotting the perfect way to take it all back. When fate puts his daughter in my sights, I know I’ve found the key to his destruction. But from the moment I meet her, my plans begin to unravel. Regan is everything I didn’t expect and I can’t help but be drawn to her. What starts as a twisted game of vengeance turns into an obsession. I need her, but I also need to destroy her father.

The lines between love and vengeance blur, and I’m not sure where one ends and the other begins.

Really good

Really enjoyed the book but was listening to the audible at the same time my only request was that they had used the voices for each character regardless of whose pov it was

Funny and cute

This was very good. If you like comedy, romance, and don’t mind a little bit of stalking. Then definitely a good book choice

What is up with the narration?

I’m no stranger to Lucy Rivers; I’ve really enjoyed some of her other performances, but this sounded like an AI version of her. Odd cadences, pauses in weird places, and a whiny, unnecessarily dramatic tone throughout the story which ultimately grated on the nerves. Honestly, Sean Masters gives a passable FMC voice- I would’ve preferred the whole book being read just by him.

The story itself was funny, if not a bit predictable. The spice was well written and appropriately spaced. I appreciate not hearing gratuitous F bombs every other word- the dialogue was decent, though sometimes redundant.

Narration sort of threw me

I am intrigued with this story and the found family within its pages. The only thing that threw me off was the female narrators male voice. It wasn’t my favorite, but didn’t keep me from enjoying everything overall.

Family doesn't have to be blood

The story line was fantastic and I loved it, and I look forward to Harper's story, it did drag out getting on point.

Good story just dragged a bit at the end.

Good story but dragged a bit at the end!
Male voice actor was absolutely incredible but female voice actor took me out of the story.
would have been better as a duet.
It was a very promising story the last 2 and a half hours just seemed like the same sentence being stated by 2 different characters multiple times.

The female voice was not good when specking for the male character. Took everything in me not to roll my eyes everytime she said reble.

Rich Girl Meets Biker Boy

The banter and spice between Rebel (aka Regan) and Rook had me laughing and rooting for them. The side characters added to the humor. I just don't understand how loyal Rebel was to her dad and why she didn't ask more about his health.

🖤🖤🖤

Rook & Rebel, the debut gem from the fresh-faced author Kate Crew, kicks off The Mavericks series with a bang! After a gut-wrenching house fire, Rook is on a one-man mission for revenge against a shady businessman, ready to unleash chaos to get it!

On the flip side, we have Regan, a freshly minted business grad stuck in her dad's mansion, feeling like a bird in a gilded cage thanks to his overprotective vibes. She’s begging for a slice of the family biz she’s meant to inherit, but all she gets are hollow promises. Hungry for power, respect, and a sprinkle of rebellion, Regan’s just itching to break free!

But plot twist! When Rook runs into a mysterious girl, his revenge plans hit a speed bump. The loyal biker gang, especially the hilarious duo Aiden and Hero, serve up laugh-out-loud moments, while quirky sidekicks Evie and Harper add a dash of delightful mischief. I’m all in for more of their escapades!

And let’s not forget the audiobook magic! With the enchanting voices of Lucy Rivers and Sean Masters, it’s like hopping on a whimsical rollercoaster with every narrated word!

Cute

Cute and good banter. You don’t need the audio though, the female narration was awful.
