About this listen

It's summertime in Winsome. Washington Acres is abloom, Megan is preparing for the grand opening of her wood-fired pizza farm, and things with her beau, handsome Dr. Finn, are getting as hot as the August temperatures.

But when Megan's father arrives with his high-maintenance Italian wife, Sylvia, and announces they're staying at the new yoga retreat center a town away, a sweet occasion sours. Eager to secure pieces for her Milan boutique, Sylvia finagles a meeting with up-and-coming artist Thana Moore, whose work is showing at the yoga retreat center. After their explosive encounter, Thana is murdered, and Sylvia becomes the prime suspect.

Megan's idyllic summer is in danger of becoming nightmarish. If she doesn't find the killer, innocent people may be imprisoned - and even more could die.

Book Four . . . and I Want More!!!

The latest in the series finds Megan's dad, Eddie and new wife, Sylvia back from Italy, but on a business trip, not for a visit. Grandma Bibi is heartbroken that she has little time with her son. Handsome Dr. Denver, the local vet is called back to Scotland because his sister was in an accident and needs his help, leaving Megan missing him something terrible. And a new local spa and retreat center has everyone flocking to try it out . . . until a well known artist is found murdered nearby . . . one of Megan's best friends from her teen years. Megan is forced to relive those times with her friend, Thana Moore and what went wrong with their friendship. When her dad's new wife, Sylvia becomes the prime suspect in Thana's murder, Megan starts to dig into Thana's past and find out who would want her dead. I love this series and all the regulars in it; Megan, Bibi, Denver, Clay, Megan's farm manager, Clover and Alvaro from the cafe, and Police Chief, Bobby King (Clover's boyfriend). Megan is starting to warm up to the idea of learning more about her mother . . . and why she left all those years ago. I'm glad the author takes things slowly and I get to use my own imagination, think about what may come next. There's plenty of romance, but its not overdone and never raunchy, which I appreciate a LOT. And the mystery is the best part of the story. Great resolution and excellent listen!
