Publisher's summary

Their paths never should have crossed, but a mandate for justice sealed their fate. From their first encounter, Cruz "The Butcher" Merada and Zafira Wilder's meticulously laid plans were shot to hell.

He's a charmingly persuasive player, a keeper of sinful promises, who's used to getting what he wants. She's resilient, determined, and nobody's pushover. They know a relationship between them would never work; however, it's only a matter of time before they risk giving in to their desires. Soon, they're spiraling out of control in a tangled web of heartstrings and treachery.

If they're smart, they'll call it quits and walk away before someone gets hurt. Or, just maybe, Cruz and Zafira will be brave enough to confront their fears and fight for what's inevitable between them - love.

Contains mature themes.

Great Read!

Out of all the Whiskey Row books, this one was my favorite. It was my favorite because there was finally a great female narrator. she can do accents, her voice didn't sound breathy or forced and she brought the characters to life. The characters, story and narration was superb!

multi layer world with whiskey tied

We see more of the characters we love. Cruz had front and center stage this time around. There is a new player in the scene. She is the counterpart that a Cruz needs. They had a few moments before but nothing like this. There was something more.

I love Mari but this time it was just a like. It was not fault of her own. It was just Morae Brohen stolen my heart for the voices of Whiskey Row and Cruz.

Plot is complex.

I enjoyed going on this journey with Cruz and Z. The flashbacks add to the depth of characters and plot development.

Great transition. from the ?Row

I first bought the book when it came out. I have been waiting to hear the narrator's tell the story passion and Fire. there is so much going on in this book and I enjoyed every moment of it. I like the relationship between Cruz and zafira. I think she is going to be a great addition to the Whiskey Row family. I like how she Blends in with her Aunt Vivian and gets along with her new found grandmother. this story had me on the edge of my seat. I knew Cruz was around for a reason but I never thought he would be so Charming and deadly at the same time. there are a lot of twists and turns and a lot is explained in this book. I can't wait for the next addition to the book. now I'm using talk to text so if you see any typos please excuse them. I'm going to say it again I love love love this book

Another Excellent Story from Whiskey Row via Spain

I just finish this latest tale that when I began it, I was not certain I wanted to read about the main character, Cruz Merada. This one has all the adventure of the other Whiskey Row stories but here we meet new characters and get the origin story for "the Butcher". As usual the characters are all well written. Kudos again to Sean Crisden and his excellent voicing and narrative abilities. He makes you forget one person is producing all these characters. I also love that we had Mari as the female narrator on this one. She is a gem and I always enjoy listening to her. Now looking forward to reading Guy's story! I think he's the only one of the Whiskey Row characters left without his own book.
