About this listen

I hold up my hand, and right there, on my left ring finger is a fat, round, and crystal-clear diamond ring.

Mellie

I was not a gambler. No way. I've built an existence free of risk and adventure. From my career to a small life with my closest family. I was not going to do anything to jeopardize my heart. But when my neighbor and number one menace to my safe plans showed up in Vegas, I did what every adventurous (not!) woman would do. I got drunk and married the man.

Adam

What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas. Then, I went and married Mellie Dupree. That woman I've been chasing for two years is now my wife. She claims she doesn't remember our wedding, but I was there, and I know she's not telling the truth. Then again, neither am I.

Contains mature themes.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story. It was awesome. I read the title a few times before and couldn’t decide if I wanted to read it or not but it turned out to be very good. The narration was awesome. Greatly appreciate it. I’m hoping that Takeoff is a spin-off from this story.

Enjoyable

I'm a Boston woman, born and bred in Dorchester MA. So, any story based in my hometown will have my complete attention! Melanie and Adam are a corky pair. Melanie's skittish attitude towards her relationship with Adam, after their impromptu Vegas wedding makes sense. After meeting her mother, that is. And, Adam's backstory if sad, but it worked out for him. Adam and Mel are a great love story. I wish them well!
Troy Duran's voice is so sexy! I can't stand it!

Awesome and a bit unusual!

overall it was fine, but the female voice needs to improve her Irish accent. or possibly have them just voice their own lines.

Female voice needs to work on the Irish accent

I loved the actors and the story. It was a wholesome description of love and forgiveness without going overboard.

A realistic family saga and well written!

Really enjoyed this story like most, if not all of the author's other books. Loved the connection to the author's other books. And even though the female narrator could not get the MMC voice correct, it was still a swoony & funny story. Troy did a wonderful job on both male & female narration. The plot was solid, the humor was funny, and the spice was 🥵. I do think the FMC changed to be a little more snobbish after she became well off. All-in-all, a great story, I would recommend.

Fantastic 🥰

The story is compelling in a fictional kind of way. I kept being angry at the female protagonist for willingly lying about being taken advantage of while she was drunk, as if that would not be a huge deal (and a crime punishable by incarceration). Then I was angry at all her family and friends for not believing her when she said she was taken advantage of while she was drunk. If she had been telling the truth, they were a horrible support system. The conflict made for an interesting story, but every single person's behavior would be deeply unacceptable in real life. I guess that's why we consider novels escapism. As usual, Miss Sola writes fantastic family dynamics, and the conflict between the female protagonist and her mother as well as the relationship between the male protagonist and his mother were both very fleshed out. Ms. Bush was good, but her Irish accent was not, and Mr. Duran did a fantastic job, as usual. I'll be returning to the story and other works by Evelyn Sola.

The story is compelling.

OMG Adam and Melle's story was so good! The characters, the plot, everything kept me engaged and anticipating on what was coming next. The story transitioned into different scenarios smoothly.

Loved It
