About this listen

A wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of a girl's life.

For me, it was a nightmare.

The man I'm promised to isn't exactly Prince Charming. And the way I ended up on this altar isn't exactly the stuff of fairy tales.

You see, my family isn't like yours. My father and brother do... things... that should never see the light of day. Things like wagering me at a poker game to be the wife and baby momma of a dark-eyed devil.

One hand of cards. One terrified girl at stake.

If I win, I'm going to run, not walk, to the nearest exit, the nearest taxi, the nearest airplane out of Chicago.

But if I lose... Well, let's just say Roman Sorokin has some very specific plans for his new bride.

Ruined Prince is the first book in the Sorokin Bratva Duet. The story will continue in the second and final book of the duet, Ruined Bride.

So good!

I’m anxious to get on to the second one! The writing and dialogue are excellent (minus the first intimate scene, that one was just odd! But the rest were great!) The narration is fantastic as well. Going on to book 2!!

Couldn't get over the male narrator

I got this book - I started listening to it and I couldn't through it.

The male narrator sounded like a my insurance agent - I go the State Farm so I have to go into the office.
He comes off like an older man with might have still have a combover that when you see it you can't stop looking it.

He ends up "winning" his bride in a poker game that her dad put her down in the pot - and course loses.
She is a 18 year old girl that starting college and the voices don't match.

Too bad I can't get my credit back.

ugh...

its just mid, I don't know if it's the male narrator that rubs me the wrong way. Or if its the writing. But its not bad, but not amazing

Not worth the credit

All the pieces of any mafia story without characters that make sense. The H is an a-hole to her at the beginning. Ok, that’s standard in mafia books but there’s no reason why this time. And that’s how the whole book was. It ended on a cliffhanger but I’m not even a little tempted to by the next in the series. I liked her Nikolaiov series- it wasn’t amazing but I enjoyed all 3 books.
