About this listen

She's a take-no-prisoners fireball. He's a sweet-talking charmer. It could be love...if they don't kill each other first.

Hotshot lawyer Luanne Price may not believe in happily ever after, but she'd do just about anything to earn her absentee father's love. So when he waltzes back into her life with a plan for her to marry his business associate, she foolishly agrees. But on the wedding day things go south. Fast. Luanne's desperate to get away, even if that means hitching a cross-country ride with the infuriating Jack Avery.

Jack needs to get Luanne out of his system. He'll watch her tie the knot and forget about her. Once she's married to another man, then she'll be off-limits forever. Solid plan. Until he spots her army-crawling through the bushes to escape the Wedding of the Season.

He knows he should let someone else deal with the runaway bride. But if there's one thing Jack has never been able to do, it's resist Luanne. Will their romance rev up on the open road, or will Jack and Luanne crash and burn?

Running with a Sweet Talker is the second book in a series of comedic contemporary romance novels. If you like zany characters, razor-sharp wit, and unlikely love stories, then you'll love the first book in Jami Albright's Brides on the Run series.

Which is better book 1 or 2?

I love this series ...trying to decide which book I love more ... book 1 or 2? they are on such a close race for me. These characters are just awesome. You will love every second. I have listened to both on Audible ... and if you listen to any book you will love this book. The narrator Jennifer Grace, her voice, her voices and how she easily changes between each characters is just priceless ... such a great listen. Now book 1 is full of so much ...but a sort of mysterious kind of odd (curiously weird) side of things is in book 2. YOU will see. I wonder will there be more in this book series? I sure as heck hope so!!! Jami is a genius ...her writing is just too too awesome! I love how she describes these folks, reminds me of folks I have met. Awesome great accents, laid back folks. You will see a bit of characters from book 1. But more about Jack Avery and Luanne Price (boy am i glad i looked up her name, different kind of spelling, oh well ...that is right.) If you have Kindle Unlimited both books are there, lucky for you. I don't see any other books in the series ...say it ain't so??! Jami ... i am hoping soon. please. MUST READ SERIES!! LOVE, love, love this series!!! ( ;

A great listen!

Another great book in this series. All of the mishaps during this story make for an enjoyable listen. This book was just as good as book!. Again, the narrator did a great job. Can't wait for more.

Laugh out loud funny with heart

This is the funniest book. Southern humor at it's best and I absolutely loved the story. Louann Price is supposed to be getting married but instead she is hiding behind trees and cars in the parking lot. Jack Avery can see her from his window high above and it hits him what she is doing. She's running. He sees this as his opportunity and goes after her. What he didn't know was what a journey they would have and where it would lead them.

This story is full of surprises and so much humor and heat and love and dumplings and used clothing. I laughed out loud so many times while listening. I love this author, Jami Albright's books are all so good and Rom-Com at it's best. Jennifer Grace did a fantastic job narrating this book. I typically only like books where you have both male and female narrators but this one has changed my mind about that. Jennifer Grace did such a good job of telling the story from both Jack and Louann's perspective.

Definite 5 star+ for his one.

OMG So funny!!!!

Jennifer Grace Is spot on. She brings the story to life. Sassy Luann, overconfident Jack, . I loved the banter between Jack and Luann. How Luann realized family is not who you grow up with, but who you let into your heart. Overconfident Jack finally realized that showing emotion does not make him any less of a man. This story is funny funny funny. How Luann tries to runaway from her wedding to on the run with Jack. Their whole road trip.was hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
😂 thank you for making me laugh.

Lot of Fun

Rom-com at it's best. Reminded me a bit of Tangled/Emma Chase and some of Christie Craig's books. Set in Texas and the south the humor is delightful with lots of snark. I love this series so far every book has been amusing and entertaining.

I couldn't finish it.

I rarely don't finish a book, especially when I pay the addition for audible, but I couldn't complete it. I got to Chapter 20 and stopped. The female lead was supposed to be strong, but she was so weak-minded, except when it came to turning down the male lead. I kept waiting for them to get together even though I didn't feel any sparks.

Sick of the acceptance

I believe we should love everyone but that doesn’t mean we have to accept their bad decisions and say it is okay if “it makes them happy.” This book really let me down. All the sex scenes in the first book took place after the characters were married and I was hoping the same for this one. The thing I was most displeased with was the fact that everyone was so accepting of Mitch’s decision to give into his homosexual desires. Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate homosexuals, or straight people who have sex before marriage but I do hate how the majority of society says that both choices are okay and even something to be celebrated. It breaks my heart.

Not as good as first one.

Let me start by saying that I had high hopes for Luann and Jack. Loved them in book one. Their attitudes and spit fire should have made this my favorite but it didn’t. I did like Jack in this book, Luann was lacking her fire. She was weak which would not have been a description for her based on book one. The way she let the emotional abuse from her family pull her was not what her character would have done in book one. As for Jack, we saw a softer side of him and how his upbringing molded him - especially with the two grannies. Omg that was hysterical. I guess my biggest angst was how he let his father push him away. That’s not the Jack we know.
As for narrator...I’ve read all the previous reviews and how much they praised her but I honestly didn’t like her. I read book one, bought audio for this one and went back to reading book 3 (which was just as good as book 1).
So if you decided to read the books - it’s about 5 hours vs 9 and for me - more enjoyable.
