Publisher's summary

Special Operator Nick Dunn gets the call he has been dreading since before his last deployment. His sister is in her final stages of cancer. He and his Team 3 roommate drive up to Sonoma County from Coronado to help her shut down her failing nursery business and tie up her final affairs.

Nick only vaguely remembers Devon Brandeburg, his sister's best friend, but boy has she grown up. Last time he saw her was five years ago when he graduated BUD/s and completed SEAL qualification to obtain his Trident. Sparks begin to fly between the two of them, but not in the normal way for Nick. The woman wants nothing to do with him.

Devon Brandeburg has created a small financial fortune through her success in real estate. Her career is her main focus, but a closely guarded secret is her total lack of experience with men. After all, who needs them? Especially when their testosterone-stuffed egos suck all the air out of the room, like Nick's does.

Nick's sister requires two things of the both of them as her dying wish. 1. Nick and Devon must find a buyer for the nursery together, not allowing to her nasty winery owner neighbor next door to get his hands on her piece of heaven. 2. They date at least five times before she passes on.

What starts as a deathbed promise turns out to be a hot affair neither one expected. Nick becomes Devon's teacher in her journey to womanhood. As she comes alive in his arms, the student brings the teacher something he's never allowed himself to want, and now knows he needs.

Love me some SEALs

If you could sum up SEAL the Deal in three words, what would they be?

Captivating, hot, amazing!!!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the whole story, the portrayal of a close bond between sister and brother, the close bond of a SEAL team, their 'no man is left behind' mentality makes me admire and love them more each time I read a story. The best part, as in each story written by Ms. Hamilton, is that love has the power to heal and the women in each SEAL's life is as strong as their men and in their own way support and strengthen them.

Which character – as performed by J.D. Hart – was your favorite?

I love each character narrated by J. D. Hart, his voice is amazing. Each time I listen to a book narrated by him I am amazed with the range of voices, the emotions, the personalities he can portray.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud imagining the SEALs dancing and singing when they helped out at Sophie's nursery before the final sale day. I cried when Sophie died. There were a whole range of emotions throughout the book.

Any additional comments?

I really recommend this series, amazing stories. Even though I know they are fictional characters, they seem so real and their life, their struggles, their strength & dedication is pouring of the pages. With J. D. Hart's voice they come to life.

Awesome

Where does SEAL the Deal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book ranks in the top 10 audiobooks for me.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved that the Seals came together to help another Seal's sister. They were all there for Nick and his sister no questions asked. I loved the whole story from beginning to end. It's another great book by Sharon Hamilton that's so hard to put down.

What does J.D. Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

J.D. Hart has such a sexy voice and all the different voices he does during this book are simply marvelous. I could listen to him read the phone book and love it too. Lol

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are several parts of this book that made me cry because it was so moving. For example, when Nick prayed. Also when Sophie died and during the funeral, it was very, very moving.

Any additional comments?

As soon as I finished this book, I started book 5 in the series. I just love Sharon Hamilton, J.D. Hart and all the Seal books I've read so far. She is an amazing writer and he's an amazing narrator.

A touching story of loss, love and family

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. An excellent story of family, loss and love

What does J.D. Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

An excellent narration. You felt the emotions of the characters and always knee who was speaking.

Any additional comments?

Others will give you a summary of this book. I will take a different route.
This book will make you cry , laugh, and want to hug your loved ones and keep them close to you.
Yes, Ms Hamilton gives us a lot of hunky SEALS, romance, sexy scenes , suspense and bad guys, but it’s also a story about family, illness, inner pain, and a love of family that no matter how strong and big the ones left behind are, the death of a loved one is hard to take. Sometimes this loss can cause one to close up to those who love us. It is at that moment that they need someone to hold them and make them open up and let go of their emotions.
The main characters, Nick and Devon, as well as Sophie, the ill sister and Mark, Nick’s SEAL brother, are all well developed and so very likable.
A story you will remember for a long time.
I have to applaud the narrator, JD Hart , for a superb delivery of the story.
I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

emotionaly charged

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend to a friend. Not only is it a great story filled with emotions, heartache and love it is beautifully narrated.

What was one of the most memorable moments of SEAL the Deal?

I think there were actually two most memorable moments. The first and most heart wrenching was the death of Nick sister. Her last moments were very touching and made me cry like a baby. The second would be when Devon picked up the bat and decided it was time to play ball. She was one seriously pissed off lady and god have mercy on anyone stupid enough to get in her path. It was AWESOME.

Which character – as performed by J.D. Hart – was your favorite?

I would have to say Devon was my favorite character. She was just the right amount of innocence and spunk to make her stand out and for everyone to take notice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

That's a hard one. A tag line for this book. Life is precious, make the most out of every day and live it as it was your last.

Any additional comments?

Of the 4 books I have read in this series this is the one that had my emotions on a roller coaster. I spent more time tearing up and saying things were so unfair that I had to go back and re listen to the parts I missed because of my crying. It was a great story and really hits home when the strongest of our warriors feel helpless as they can not protect the ones they love from an enemy they can not fight.

Emotional Roller Coaster

Any additional comments?

Seal the Deal is my new favorite from the Seal Brotherhood Series. There was so much emotion packed into this story, I listened to this story as fast as I could. Nick was at moments amazing and at moments I hated him. But he encompasses everything a man should be, strong, loving, compassionate at times, but with faults. I was blown away by Sophie's character and I loved Mark's relationship with her. Some of the most powerful scenes were the small interactions between Sophie and Mark. Devon started out so uptight that I thought I wouldn't be able to identify with her, but all the influences from Sophie, Nick and the other seals brought out something in her that allowed me to relate to her more easily. The story really just blew me away with emotion and I can't wait to see where Sharon takes us with book 5!

Sealed with a Kiss!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, definitely! The Seal Brotherhood is one of my favorite series.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved when Nick's sister requested he and her best friend Devon date at least five times before she passed on. It gave them a push into a relationship they didn't want, but was everything they needed.

Have you listened to any of J.D. Hart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. J.D. is an amazing storyteller. He always bring the characters to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt really sad for Nick's sister.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love Sharon's books and combined with J.D. Hart's seductive voice, this series is a must read.

I don't know about this one.

Devin may have been able to forgive and forget but I don't know if I could have. That sex scene between them, after the sisters death, was to far to forgive! At least I thought so.

Sweet Holy Mary...

Would you listen to SEAL the Deal again? Why?

Can I give this more than 5 *'s? Seriously this is one emotional roller coaster but lord have mercy it was worth EVERY single tear, laugh and funny look I got while listening to it. LOL Sharon did it again. Made it so I literally could not put this one down. the story itself is full of... well everything. You know the saying, "Live, Laugh, Love"? Well that is what this one is all about. The characters become a part of you as you read (or in my case listen) to the words on the page play out.

Nick, big strong navy SEAL has had a rough few days. He's not even been home from Afghanistan for 24 hours and gets a call from his sister Sophie. A call he knew was coming but still isn't really ready for. She has cancer and not doing well. It's time to get things in order for her final days. So he and his best friend, and SEAL Team 3 mate head up to her nursery. It becomes a team effort (literally) to get the things done that are needed. His sister though has hatched a plan, her dying wish kind of plan. Sophie wants her little brother and her best friend Devon to be together. So she tells them they must date 5 times before she dies. As if anyone could say no to that.

Thing is.. they but heads but they both have Sophie's best interests in mind. They love her and will do anything to give her what she wants. That turns into real feelings being developed. I mean, come on everyone has a soul mate. Sophie knows them both and knew they'd be the right kind of couple together. They manage to deal with the separation when Nick goes back home after taking care of his duties with Sophie's place. But things take a bad turn with Devon and Nick after Sophie passes. Something in Nick breaks. More so than when he is overseas fighting.

His sister, the only blood family he had left is gone. Now he's managed to make Devon hate him... and he really has nothing left to live for. When suspicions surface that his sisters health decline could have had help... Nick snaps again. When circumstances present themselves and Nick manages to escape his SEAL team after his sister's funeral and takes it upon himself to exact revenge on his sister's behalf.

His ONLY saving grace is Devon. Unbeknownst to her (since she is after her own revenge at the moment on behalf of Sophie) walks in just in time to stop nick from doing something that would ruin him forever. Devon is so mad, at him, at the situation and at the arsehole Nick has in his grasp that she strikes out against Nick. (With a baseball bat.. LOL) She threatens to bash his head in... in that moment she saved him. The way she stood up to him saved him. It removed the cloud from his mind and let him think.. Just as Sophie knew she would, Devon was there when he needed her most.. and then they went to jail together. (I seriously cracked up, ignored the strange looks and just LOL'd.. it was priceless. Reminded me of the breakdown in the cemetery scene of Steel Magnolias where Clary tries to get M'Lynn to slap Ouiser... ROTL. Seriously the BEST moment of the book for timing.)

Needless to say Nick now has a second chance to straighten himself up, get his head out of his arse and be the SEAL that his sister would be proud of. Time can heal wounds but so can someone who loves you and gets you.. and for Nick, that's Devon.

Emotional!!!

I laughed…I cried…and I thoroughly enjoyed this installation in the series. Sophie’s death was portrayed so sadly that I had tears. You could then feel the gamut of emotions Nick was going through. And then smiles as Nick & Devon realized they belong together. JD’s narration…could just listen to it all day. I know I say this every time, but this is my favorite in the series (and saddest). Each one is better than the one before it. Another excellent job, Sharon!!!
