Publisher's summary

Navy SEAL Cam Patterson can't wait for the day that he returns to the woman he loves. But everything blows up when he finds out there is a plot to kill the President of the United States.

Miranda Stanhope has been anxiously awaiting Cam's return. Months ago, he and his Black Eagle SEAL Team wrenched her away from the Taliban who'd been torturing her. The terrifying nightmares still haunt her. Despite everything, she has fought back the darkness and is ready to move forward into Cam's loving embrace.

When Cam finally returns, he and Miranda work to forge a relationship they hope will last forever, but then the threats begin. When the danger escalates, and Miranda almost dies, Cam calls in Tex Keegan, a man he hopes can help him stop the madness. But when Miranda is taken, it's a race against time, and even with Tex's help will Cam be able to find her, or will her lose his Sunshine forever?

Too mushy, but not bad.

The story is just a little too mushy. I probably could have handled it better except the narrators voice was just too whiney. By too mushy, it's just not believable that Seals act this way.

Entertaining story and performance

This is one of those books where I enjoyed the print book more than the audible book. It's a medium sized story with SEALs and their women and trouble. It follows "the formula" and has suspense, action, and romance. The performance is good.

The hunt is on!💥

The author writes well but all of her characters are adolescents and unseasoned.

If you're 18-25 you may "get into" these books and perhaps relate to them. I dont feel this author is my cup of tea because Im not in this demographics...in my late 40s nor can I relate to the authors rather immature characters.

The sex scenes in this book are short lived - UHH! ...before ya know it...its over baby!

All of Wilders female characters are really immature (probably because they are still feral and in their 20s -LOL) Some scenes are cringeworthy - at times I found myself thinking "did they just say that?"

The women seem rather ignorant especially since they kept asking the men about their missions and other details they know the guys cannot reveal. UHH!

Example - The SEALS put trackers on the girls phones...just to keep them safe from future kidnapping etc...but the girls still debated this. (as if they weren't scared to death from their past ordeals!) DUAHHH!

These 20 something gals seemed VERY naive! Just sayin!

Miranda is a 25 yr old girl (with the personality of a 15 yr old) because she still lives at home in a comfy mansion with Mom and Dad! She has no real direction in life and was dumb enough to travel to Afghanistan with a crazy religious group to push Jesus on the locals who are already brain washed by Allah! OMG! Who in their right mind would walk into a HOSTILE zone such as Afghanistan - knowing how extreme the majority of people are there and their STONE AGE beliefs!?
Then....Miranda waned to "go back" to Afghanistan after being kidnapped and tortured...to continue working with the religious fanatics! How bout - get a job or 2 and move out of mom n dads place! UHH!

I just couldn't get into this book - nor this series. Absolutely NO CONNECTION with these childish characters! Sorry St James fans!

Super job narrating Emma!

- Namaste!
