About this listen

What will you do to save your family when the zombie apocalypse starts? Because Mike Fletcher will do anything, and that's his greatest weapon.

From the multi-award-winning author Christopher Artinian comes the second book of the post-apocalyptic zombie series, Safe Haven.

A virus has swept across the planet turning people into flesh-craving zombies. The UK and Ireland were the last to fall, but now the virus has won. Cities are infested with the undead. To stay is to die.

Having fled Leeds, Mike Fletcher and his family thought they had found a safe haven in the island village of Candleton. But their peace was fleeting, and others want what they have. Now, they find themselves in a fresh fight for their lives, battling armies of vicious raiders and fast, relentless zombies.

Horror and tyranny reign in this new world, and a war is looming on the horizon that only the bravest will choose to fight. The time has come to take a stand. The time has come to find a new kind of hero.

Loved It!

I loooove Safe Haven - Realm of the Raiders: Book 2 by Christopher Artinian! It's everything you could ask a book to be. It's full of suspense, horror, a little romance, heart-pumping and hold your breath goodness and ingenious ways to take on your enemies. I will never use my blender again without thinking of this book. Thank you Chris for another great story and to Kim Bretton for bringing it to life! Really looking forward to Book 3!

Great Continuation

Thus is a great story written byba talented author. Even a change in vocal talent doesn't detract. What happens now that they think their safe? Cant wait to find out.

RAM's and Villains

When you read a lot of books in a certain genre, you come to expect certain things in that genre. In books about a zombie apocalypse, here are a few of those:

A main character that rises above anyone's expectations and becomes a Kickass hero/heroine
An evil group (often military) that has its own agenda, often working against the survivors
At least a little romantic interest
Deaths of a few characters that the reader has come to know and care about (which makes you cry and want to strangle the author!)
Plenty of descriptions of zombie battles, gore, blood and rotten flesh

And, I have to say, "Safe Haven: Realm of the Raiders" has all of these elements!

This book picks up where the first installment ends as we continue to follow Mike & his extended family in their quest to reach their Gran's place in Scotland. Along the way, we have villains, love, loads of emotion and, of course, ZOMBIES!

Mr. Artinian is a great writer and he really keeps the action going with this one. Loads of great characters, tons of gore and zombie killings. There is a lot of emotion in this book as well.....family comes first, no matter what. You just don't leave anybody behind that you consider family! As Mike says, "There are different kinds of strength and having the strength to admit your grief is just as important as having the strength to fight for your family."

And, the main villain in this book has to be one of the most hateful people I have encountered in a zompoc book. I can't wait to see him meet his well-deserved end!

Since I had previously read the ebook version, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy listening to the same book. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the second time around! In fact, I think I enjoyed the listen more than my first reading. Kim Bretton does an amazing job in narrating this book. Her pacing is perfect and the different accents/voices she uses adds a lot to the listener's enjoyment.

I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author and chose to review it.

Good Continuation of the series.

Safe Haven Realm of the Raiders Book 2 is a good continuation to this Zombie apocalypse series. Mike and crew are back again(this time with a different narrator, Kim Bretton, who does a great job). There is a ton more action, conflict and death in this book. Mike is still a badass, Men want to be him and woman want to be with him, There are some great new characters and villains and some characters that you aren't sure which is which.

The world is a dangerous one and not just because of the Zombies, one of the biggest dangers is the other Humans and now they even have to worry about rats! The story does a good job of never really letting your or the characters feel completely safe or secure and always with their head on a swivel, especially in Mike's case.

As I said there is a new narrator for this book in Kim Bretton and overall I think she did an excellent job. I would of probably given her 5 stars but I was not a fan of the voice that she used for Lucy, other than that I think she was spot on with the Male and female characters.

If you enjoyed the first book in the series I would definitely recommend this one as it is more of the same(in a good way) and has quite a few twists thrown in. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Great Sequel

Mike and his group seemed to have finally found a Safe Haven, but things quickly fall apart. RAMs are bad enough in a Zompoc, being fast, pissed off and hungry, but they aren’t the worst thing out there. There was non-stop action throughout this book as friends and enemies are made, but Mike remains the same man throughout. What he will do to protect those that matter to him has no limits and you do not want to be his enemy. In the regular world Mike struggled, but this world has Mike being a hero for the exact reasons he struggled before. I love that poetry. Mike didn’t change, the world did. Now Mike fits in and. handles it better than most. When before you might shun Mike, now he’s the best man to have on your side.

A great addition to the series, widening the world and keeping our heroes under the gun while showing right and wrong aren’t always as clean cut as some like to believe. Kim takes over narration in this book and does a great job. While I’d expect a man to narrate with Mike being the main character, this has so many female characters and times where Mike isn’t in front that a woman works. Add to that the fact that she is amazing at all the accents in the books and I’m totally sold.

Never ending excitement

I have read every available book in the Safe Haven series and have a pretty good imagination but having it read to you actually brings you in to Mike, Lucy and Emmas world. You feel a part of the story. Kim Bretton is a wonderful narrator and can't wait for the next one in the series.

Just keeps getting better

First, Christopher and Kim are an amazing team. No I’m not talking about characters but the author and narrator
Second, wow just wow! So much action. Half we have a tiny bit of hapoy in this book, but so much sad as well.
Third, I like how the worlds from The end of Everything and this series will be kind of crossing a bit, even if it’s just from the villains.
This guy Fry needs to die ASAP. He’s like a damn cockroach!
