Publisher's summary

There is no rest for the wicked.

After spending 10 years of her life hunting her sister's killer and barely surviving, Allie Krycek is ready to move on. She's got a new job, in a new city, with a new man in her life. Things are finally looking up.

Too bad there are people determined to ruin Allie's second chance.

Arriving at her boyfriend's isolated house in the countryside, masked gunmen interrupt what was supposed to be a romantic getaway. Forced into another life and death situation, Allie will have to battle throughout the night if she hopes to keep herself and those she loves alive.

It's a good thing that fighting is something Allie Krycek knows how to do well. And this time, she's not alone.

Thanks for nothing, Reinifer

If you can only listen to books, avoid this one! All characters sound almost identical, difficult to follow , no nuances when phrases are often repeated, ARGH!

Less than OK and bad narration..

OK, this was as good as the first one, as far as excitement goes, and Allie kicked some butt in this book, too, but I was hoping the narration would be better, it wasn’t.

I lost track of how many bad guys Allie killed and I was left confused at the end of the book. There was only Dan and the other bad guy left at the house and he was yelling at Allie to just give him the girl, Lucy. Because the money had been put in Lucy’s name and she was the only one who could touch, and then he drove away when Allie didn’t answer him. Allie found him in Croatia seven months later and demanded the remainder of the money? What? How did he get the 80 million if he never got Lucy?

Anyway, this wasn’t as good as the first book so I doubt I’ll move on the third book.

There was swearing in this book and the F-bomb was used 29 times.

As to the narrator? No offence, but he sucked. The only emotion that isn’t used that should be used is whispering. When you’re in the woods and the bad guys are looking for you and you have no idea where they are you whisper when you talk to each other, if you talk at all. You DO NOT talk in a regular voice AND when the book calls for a whisper you whisper. In these two books I’ve had my fill of Joshua Reiniger. He has a nice voice but he’s no narrator. He doesn’t do what the book calls for and his women sound just like men.
