Top notch post apoc with engaging characters

I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, but am so often disappointed with survival scenarios that involve characters I could care less about. I love that Platt and Wright cast a wide net of characters that are so engaging, with killer cliffhangers to the end of their chapters, that you go ravenous to read (or in my case listen) to as many chapters as you can. The audiobook is the way to go. Every narrator is top notch. Make this part of your commute and you'll wish you had to drive across the country to get there. I'm dying trying to wait for books three and beyond to make it to audiobook. I switched over to the Breakers series for now so I can engulf these in quick succession.

Anxiously awaiting the second season!

If you could sum up Yesterday's Gone: Season One in three words, what would they be?

Intriguing,edge-of-your-seat thrill ride!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Yesterday's Gone: Season One?

I truly enjoyed the whole storyline! However, for me the moment that most stuck in my mind was when two of the characters reach Times Square and are astounded by the enormity of their new reality.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

There are several narrators and their performances are carried out really well. I especially like the way that Buricio's character is read. He is made to be, clearly, one creepy psycho!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to listen to the whole book, but I knew that I was going to have to wait for the nest installment so I tried to take it slow.

Any additional comments?

If the second season is as good as the first, then I hope the third season will be available soon!

Buy this audiobook, then get Season 2

I'm not a huge science fiction fan, but I really enjoy end of the world reads. This book, however, was awesome! The only thing better is Season 2. The authors have five seasons out now, and the sixth will be the finale. Here's hoping that Podium gets all of them produced and here on Audible!

Wow! What a ride!

I just had to add credits because the last episode left me hanging at the wrong time. It may be morbid but by the end of the season I was all Boricio or however it's spelled. I must admit that the stories kinda ran together for me near the end but this series is great!

A real struggle to suspend disbelief for the post apocalyptic genre

It took me a full 6 hours to somewhat like this story. I think the array of narrators is part of the problem. Lucah? Horrible. The intonation of the narrator coupled with the intentional child-like thought process of the character just don't work for me. Ugh! The serial killer was a bit much a first but then he started to grow on me.

The flip flopping between characters was distracting at times but it made the time spent with annoying characters a bit more bearable.

The theme: without going into too much detail I thought the concept of the end of the world as we know it is a tried and true topic but I think the author gets a bit too amb

Awesome narritive

Read this a few months ago, my first audio book. The writing style is so close to Stephen King it is amazing. Similar POV style (Like The stand by King) I'm absolutely in love with the way it was put together. so I bought 3 of the seasons available and waiting on 4-6 to hit stores. Awesome character bulding, character you will love, and characters you love to hate. Wow is all I can say.

This is the second time I have listened to this series. The first time I just listened, this time I am watching. It’s so much more ! The first time was fun this time it’s scary! Give it a spin once put it away for a while than, listen once more and not see something you missed the first time around. Ok,ok, I liked it! You will too!

Too Many Questions, Not Enough Answers

While the performances were fantastic, the story left me with a lot of unanswered questions and I don't think I'm willing to sit through another fifteen hours to maybe get the answers. I'm sure the opinions vary on the story, and don't get me wrong, I finished the book and for the most part, I enjoyed it. I just thought it left a lot of loose ends. Too many things left unfinished in what feels like a deliberate attempt to get you to keep going in the series, which is fine - television does this sort of thing all of the time - but what always seems to happen is another season of more questions than answers.

Love the Story, Language seemed excessive

I read the disclaimer before purchasing this book and knew there would be strong language but it still caught me off guard. I listen to books while at work and the language at times made me feel uncomfortable to listen to at work. I expected cussing but there was way more than needed and the language was pornographic at points. I disagree with the disclaimer statement that it adds to the story. I thought at times it took away from the story.

Language aside it is an interesting plot with interesting characters and I will be listening to the next one (with headphones on so no one can hear the language : > )
