Publisher's summary

The New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of the Marked Men books continues her delightfully sexy Saints of Denver series.

Hudson Wheeler is a nice guy. Everyone knows it, including his fiancée, who left him with a canceled wedding and a baby on the way. He's tired of finishing last and is ready to start living in the moment, with nights soaked in whiskey, fast cars, and even faster girls. He's set to start living on the edge, but when he meets Poppy Cruz, her sad eyes in the most gorgeous face he's ever seen hook him right away. Wheeler can see Poppy's pain, and all he wants to do is take care of her and make her smile, whatever it takes.

Poppy can't remember a time when she didn't see strangers as the enemy. After a lifetime of being hurt by the men who swore to protect her, Poppy's determined to keep herself safe by keeping everyone else at arm's length. Wheeler's sexy grin and rough hands from hours restoring classic cars shouldn't captivate her, but every time she's with him, she can't help being pulled closer to him. Though she's terrified to trust again, Poppy soon realizes it might hurt even more to shut Wheeler out - and the intense feelings pulsing through her are making it near impossible to resist him.

The only thing Poppy is sure of is that her heart is in need of some serious repair, and the more time she spends with Wheeler, the more she's convinced he's the only man with the tools to fix it.

Amazing

If you could sum up Salvaged in three words, what would they be?

Heartbreaking. Amazing. Courageous.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Poppy. She went through so much but she has a spirit that can get through anything. She's a wonderful character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I could have, I would. I loved this book!

Epic ending

What an amazing ending to an epic series. First of all, I have to say that I didn't know I wanted to know more about Wheeler. He never really appealed to me much. Jay Crownover took Wheeler from a secondary character into a leading role. I love him, his dedication and his heart are beautiful and the way he loves Poppy is magical.

I often get tired of relationship problems in books. It always is the same thing, boy and girl get together, something happens, they break up and then get back together. Jay Crownover stomped all over this pattern and reinvented a romance. It was so refreshing for the drama to be against them and not against each other. I loved that about this book.

The negative is the narration. I feel Jay Crownover has ALWAYS had awesome narrators but this did not meet her standards. The male narrator, to me, didn't sound like the proper age range or voice for what Wheelers character was. The female narrator, albeit much better than the male, still didn't have that timid and meek quality I would think Poppy's character would have.

Just great

A great end to a series. Poppy is stringer then she thinks and deserves all the happiness and orgasms she can get . Wheeler where can I find one of him for myself always had a thing for Gingers. he's sweet and great fit for Poppy.

Salvage is a great story!!!

I love reading books by Jay Crownover. This is the last book of the Saints of Denver series and even if it difficult to let such a good series go, I must say that this is the perfect book to end it. Both this characters deserve their HEA.

if you like stories about woman that learn how to survive and confront their demons, and hard working men that get the best reward of their lives (love), this is the perfect book for you!

Sweet ending

It wasn't an angst-ridden love story but sweet and fulfilling nonetheless. It was a good ending to the series.

5 Salvaged Stars!!

Wheeler & Poppy

I am in awe of this book; I knew it was going to be good. No I knew it was going to be freaking fantastic and I was NOT wrong.

If you followed the Marked Men Series, Poppy is Salem’s Sister. And Salem is Rowdy’s girl. So right from that series your heart is bleeding for Poppy.

She has so much in her that she is trapped. It’s trapped inside her and she is desperate to let it out. But she is also so very afraid all the time.

Wheeler is struggling with responsibility and inadequacy from the break-up of a long time relationship.

These two souls find each other and it was like they knew they were meant for each other, it was the rest of them that had to catch up.

The love and support and the growth these characters go through will break your heart and mend it. I can’t even tell you how perfect this story is for them. It has all the ups and all the downs and everything in-between.

It might just be my all-time favorite of Jay’s books I have read. And that is saying something because Nash and Church have taken up huge chucks of this girl’s heart.

You won’t find a better man than Wheeler and you won’t find a gentler soul than Poppy and their story is a reflection of everything they have been though and their determination to move forward and have the best possible life, because it is precious and should be cherished.

I very much enjoyed the female narrator she bring that sound of Poppy I had in my head from reading the book. I liked the male narration, but I sometimes felt like he was just saying the words and not really feeling them. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great addition to the audio versions of this series. I just wanted a little more from him. But I have to say his female voices were pretty freaking great.

I will re-listen and it’s very much worth the credit.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
