About this listen

Charity
I’m in trouble. Big trouble. Not that I should be surprised. My entire life has been one huge misfortune.
I have nothing and no one.
But then.... Finn comes along. Gorgeous, stubborn, and infuriating.
And he can’t seem to leave me alone.

Finn
Life hasn’t been a picnic. But finally, I had it all figured out.
But then.... Charity comes crashing into my life. Beautiful, unwavering, and aggravating.
And I can’t let her go.

Even better in audio

Gah my heart!!!! This might be Nicole’s swooniest book yet. Don’t mistake it for a sweet hearts and roses story. It’s dark and heart breaking but so full of strength and utter devotion. Some of the best heart melting quotes I have ever read in my life. I was so emotionally invested in this book I was biting my nails as I read it! Nicole never disappoints with the heartfelt tragic stories that will be burned into your soul.

I love her books. I read them and they just embed themselves on my soul. But without fail I have to listen to them when they come out in audio because she picks the perfect narrators every single time!!!!! They just add so much to the books with their emotion and it just makes me love this author more!

Salvation

Salvation is the next standalone novel within this intrerconnected series of characters. Charity and Finn are two fabulous people. From the beginning to the very end I was immersed into there story. I really enjoyed the many tiers of Charity's personality. Finn is loveable and keel over worthy. This author creates a story without adding sweetner to it and the ability to draw you in.

Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross jump into the role of the characters and become them. You are teleported into the world this author creates and listening from the sidelines while he story unfolds. Both narrators are very talented with nice tones.

Looking forward to listening to what's next from this author.

AMAZING

I have no words to how amazing this book is!! When I say say this book left me speechless, I am 100% telling you the truth. Finn recuses Charity from hospital after she is beat to the edge of her life, just because his best friend asked him too. This shows the level of trust amongst this group. Finn promises, Jace & Maya he will protect NB Charity and that he does. He understands she is obviously going through something big, but Finn lets her learn to trust him in her own time. Charity trusts no one and despite Finn rescuing her and being there basically 24/7 with her breaking m I her walls are a challenge. Charity feels the pull between them and despite everything trusts him. He slowly begins to break down her walls but breaking her walls is helping to repair her and teach her she’s not broken. She deserves happiness, she is a strong confident woman and can overcome all the negative she’s endured. Finn doesn’t do s as nothing specific to achieve this, other than loving her and letting her take it at her pace. And Charity really helps Finn see there is more to life when you love someone deeply. Truly this book is a work of art in how Nicole wrote these characters.

Such a heartbreaking past...

I'm truly obsessed with this group of broken but close friends!

I never know which one of them will be my new favorite or will have the most f*cked-up baggage!

Charity though, takes the trophy for a reaaaally bad past!
This girl went to hell and stayed there like it was her childish home... and it was really close to it, until Finn dropped off his white horse to save the day!

I really loved him and I wish she could have seen sooner how truly selfless he was... she could've accept the help that was offered.
Beggars can't be choosers and all that...

Chris reaction to Charity really bothered me, so I'm probably not listening to his book right now...

Their happy ending was good but bittersweet...

the Narration was really good.

Beautiful Heart Clenching Story

Another beautifully angsty gut wrenching story by Nicole Dykes. I enjoyed Finn and Charity’s captivating story from the start. I took my time listening to this book because Ms. Dykes’ stories feature some heavy subjects that may be triggering to some. I knew I was going to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the way Charity and Finn’s story was told. It was a darkish gripping slow burn, friends to lovers, angsty love story that made you want to cry and cheer on the characters to get their HEA.

Finn was a swoony, cocky, sexy, over protective hero with a hidden heart of gold. Charity was broken, strong, feisty heroine with a fighting determination to survive. Together they were a beautifully tragic couple who conquered their demons. Finn was the salvation Charity needed in her life. He showed her there are good people in the world and to not be afraid of love and intimacy. He helped her to heal from her traumatic past. She finally found her home and someone to love and count on.

Finn and Charity were brought to life by the wonderful narration duo Kai Kennicott & Wen Ross. Kai’s performance of Charity was impeccable and she flawlessly captured Charity’s fighting determination and tragic past. Her voice as Finn was swoon worthy. Wen’s voice was brilliant as Finn. His deep timber added something extra to the darkish scenes of the loan sharks. The whole narration was entertaining and captured my attention from beginning to end.
